Employee Hoses Little Axe Fire Department

Little Axe, OK -- C'mon we've all done it. Who hasn't taken home a few items from our work place - pencils, pens, Post-its, maybe even a stapler or tape dispenser. What about $4,400 in firefighting equipment?

According to court papers filed in Cleveland County, Anna Michelle Gonterman, 36, decided to take her work home with her - and hasn't been heard from since.

Little Axe Fire Commissioner Charles Early told police that Gonterman "had been on probation with the department and had been put on suspension due to some legal troubles." Court records go on to state "after being suspended [Gonterman] refused to return the equipment that was issued to her by the department and since has moved and cannot be contacted."

In late October Gonterman was charged with a single felony count of embezzlment.

Gonterman's case is still open.

UPDATE: On 12/27/06 the case was dismissed.

You need to get your facts straight. And I will help you out. The report was made on the 10th of October the firefighter was not even notified of her suspension until the 12th, at which time she was not given a valid reason, but attempted to make arrangements with the fire chief to turn in her gear until a board meeting could be held. Upon which the chief refused to accept it. Upon learning of the bogus charges filed she then contacted the Assistant DA handling the case who then demanded that the Little Axe Fire Chief Allen Schneider come to his office and accept the gear. The "legal troubles" cited by the useless Board of Directors Charles Early(you want a story, there's a story, look into the VPOs and custody battles he has going on, not to mention his undocumented embezzlement from the Little Axe Fire District)were trumped up charges also investigated and dismissed by the same Assistant DA. All charges were dropped on 12-19-06. This firefighter was contacted by several local media stations but refused to do a story stating "she did not want to put a black eye on the brotherhood of firefighting because not all departments were prejudice against females." The district of Little Axe lost one of the best firefighters they had ever had over the fact she was female. But their loss was our departments gain!
