Newalla, OK - A man is allegedly caught on videotape peeking into his neighbor's bathroom and bedroom windows.
According to court papers, Michael Ray Holt II, 30, who resides on East Indian Hills Road in Newalla was caught, December 12, by a female neighbor "squatting down looking inside [her 16-year old daughter's bedroom] window."
Allegedly, this is not Holt's first time to peep.
According to a recently filed affidavit, the neighbors claim they first witnessed Holt peeping into their bathroom window in March of last year.
The report goes on to state that in November, the neighbors began witnessing Holt standing in his yard with binoculars and wearing no pants.
Realizing Holt's alleged behavior was not exactly neighborly, they borrowed a camcorder from a friend.
On December 12, the neighbor became suspicious that she was being watched, she grabbed her camcorder and set out to confront Holt.
Apparently her suspicions paid off as she was able to tape and witness Holt, dressed in black, on her property and peeping into her daughter's bedroom window.
Reportedly, when Holt realized he had been caught he quickly ran away, while pulling up his pants!
Charges were filed in Cleveland County against Holt on December 28.

Sam's Gift Card Anyone?
Norman, OK - Sam's Club employee impersonates others in order to purchase gift cards.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Norman resident Sandy Kay Coehlo, 38, was employed at the local Sam's Club on West Main.
It seems that during her employment, police allege Coehlo would use the personal information of Sam's Club members to "resubmit credit card applications and obtain a duplicate card."
Once Coehlo had her new shinny credit cards in hand, she allegedly would use them to purchase Sam's Club gift cards for herself.
Court papers do not detail the amount of money or types of merchandise fraudulently obtained from the gift cards. But, the day after Christmas, Coehlo was formerly charged in Cleveland County with four counts of felony identity theft.
Coehlo is out on bond and awaiting her January 9 court date.

Brothers Brawl at Norman Halloween Party
Norman, OK - Brothers out on the town celebrating Halloween allegedly decide to spice things up a little bit with some tag team ass kicking.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the Matthews siblings, Brent, 21, and Kelly, 23, (both listed as students at the University of Oklahoma) were at Moe's restaurant in Norman.
At some point in the wee hours of October 29, the brothers approached a group of party goers.
According to witness statements, Kelly got into a verbal altercation with Christopher H. (a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and senior at OU) regarding "comments about Halloween costumes."
Kelly Matthews decided talk was cheap and cold-cocked C.H. "causing him to loose consciousness."
Apparently knocking a frat dude out cold was not enough for the redneck duo as they reportedly both began kicking and hitting the man about his head and face. So much so that the victim had to have reconstructive surgery and metal plates implanted into the right side of his eye and face.
As if this Jerry Springer moment wasn't enough, when another male patron (and fellow OU student) tried to stop the Matthews siblings from beating the stuffings out of C.H., he too was attacked. Reportedly this second attack victim required surgery to correct a dislocated shoulder caused by Kelly Matthews.
You can follow Brent's case here and Kelly's case here.
Nothing like a little felony assault and battery conviction to add to your college transcript and resume.

OU Student Furnishes Apt with University Property
Norman, OK - OU student allegedly furnished his dorm room with property belonging to the University.
According to court papers, OU freshman Robert Wayne Johns Jr., 18, decided that his dorm would be much more hip if it only incorporated a few choice pieces of furniture - the problem? The furniture he picked out belonged to the university.
Apparently on or about December 6, Johns Jr. absconded with a few unspecified pieces of university property that had previously been located in "the commons area of the OU Walker Tower and was using in his residence hall room for personal use."
Upon questioning by OU police, Johns Jr. reportedly replied, "...it looks good in here and it's more comfortable in here now."
None to impressed with Johns Jr's redecorating resourcefulness, on December 20 he was charged with the felony crime of receiving stolen property.

When Bachelor Parties Go Bad
Del City, OK - When two 'entertainers' at a bachelor party refuse to provide sexual services the host allegedly pulls a gun on them.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on December 10, Elizabeth Diaz and Sandra Gray were "hired as entertainment for a bachelor party" when the host and bachelor Jason W. Friedly, 26, got into a dispute "regarding the services [Diaz and Grey] were to provide."
According to Diaz, she was entertaining 12-16 men at the party when Friedly took her to his bedroom and demanded oral sex. Diaz said she refused and bit Friedly on the left shoulder.
As Diaz was gathering her belongings to leave the party she noticed the money she had been paid was missing.
Diaz claims that Friedly then grabbed a rifle and while pointing it at her and Gray stated they should leave "before there were any problems."
Apparently Friedly's fiancee gave police permission to search the residence and retrieve the rifle in question; a Browning 20-gauge. Friedly was placed under arrest.
Police have requested charges of pointing a firearm and assault and battery.
As of this date no charges have been filed.
A quick court records search shows an active misdemeanor prostitution case in Oklahoma County against an Elizabeth Ann Diaz. However, it is unknown if this is indeed the same Elizabeth Diaz mentioned in this story.

Attention Wal Mart Customers - 2 for 1 on TV's... NOT!
OKC, OK - Two Wal Mart customers tried to pull a two-for-one on televisions and instead are looking at a date with the judge.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Ken Casady, 31, and Trevor Mortensen, 22, (who we will refer to as Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum respectively) walked into the Wal Mart on West Reno in OKC on the afternoon of December 8.
Dee and Dum promptly proceeded to the electronics department and picked out a spiffy TV for $618.
After paying for and placing the TV in their car, it hit them - they only bought one TV but there are two of them. Now, that hardly seems fair.
So, Dee and Dum walk back into the store, with their trusty receipt in hand, and proceed to place an identical TV into their basket and out the door they went.
Unfortunately for them, those pesky Wal Mart security officers were none too impressed and detained the duo until police arrived.
Tweedle-Dum (Mortensen) the younger of the two seems to have been down this road before.
A quick review of his criminal past shows a current case in Oklahoma County court for felony grand larceny, arson, obtaining money under false pretenses, pointing a firearm and 6 counts of concealing stolen property.

Rude Awakening
OKC, OK - An Oklahoma woman wakes up to find her neighbor standing naked at the end of her bed, the suspect is no stranger to law enforcement.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed December 11 in Oklahoma County, Allen Ray Bradley, 26, decided to pay a late night visit to his female neighbor -sans clothes and sans invitation.
Allegedly, on December 10, Bradley entered into the woman's residence through an unlocked overhead garage door. He then was able unlatch an interior door secured with a chain lock.
According to police, the victim "was asleep in bed when he woke up and found [Bradley] standing at the foot of her bed. [Bradley] was naked."
The victim them yelled and Bradley fled the residence.
Bradley was charged December 15 with the felony crimes of burglary in the 1st degree and indecent exposure.
A quick look in into Bradley's past shows several runins with the law going back to 1998 (when Bradley turned 18).
In 1998 Bradley was convicted in Garfield County of felony possession of a CDS and given a deferred sentence.
In 2001 Bradley was again convicted in Garfield County of felony possession of CDS with intent to distribute near a school. For this conviction he was given 5-years in prison.
Later that same year he was convicted of attempted escape.

Woman Embezzles $64K from Employer
Moore, OK - A woman from Moore allegedly embezzled just over $64,000 this holiday season from her employer.
According to court papers, Paula Louise Bland, 34, was employed at Vesta Homes in their accounts payable department. Police allege that in a three month period of time, Bland wrote herself $64,015.43 worth of unauthorized checks.
And what was on Bland's shopping list... $757 for a riding lawn mower, $456 at Office Depot and $4,980 to "her cosmetic surgeon" (isn't that about the going rate for a boob job).
Felony charges and an arrest warrant were issued for Bland December 15th.

Really Dumb Credit Card Thief
Moore, OK - Somebody using another person's credit card number illegally is nothing new, it happens hundreds of times every day. However, it never ceases to amaze me how stupid some criminals are when perpetrating such a crime.
Take Tomica Adell Deshazer for instance. This 26-year-old mastermind allegedly decided to write down the credit card number of a customer at a Moore dry cleaners where she worked.
Deshazer, who lives in NE Oklahoma City, apparently thought she was due a really big tip from her customer - $286.15 to be exact.
According to court records, this past July, Deshazer promptly picked up the phone and used the stolen credit card information to make her monthly car payment.
Needless to say, it didn't take an abundance of detective work to figure out who the credit card thief was.
On December 11, criminal charges were filed in Cleveland County.

Stealing from Children's Miracle Network
Moore, OK - You can't be a bigger Scrooge at Christmas time than to steal from kids in need. Well, that's exactly what court papers allege one man did in early November.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Cleveland County last Friday, Thomas Alan Brown, 33, was caught on tape stealing a Children's Miracle Network donation canister.
It seems Brown was employeed by Flair Body Works located in Moore. As many businesses do, FBW had a Children's Miracle Network donation can sitting on the front counter. There, customers and employees would donate their spare change in hopes of bringing joy to needy children this holiday season.
It also seems that FBW had been experiencing some petty theft from time to time. So, the owner installed a hidden camera.
On November 7 the owner of FBW noticed the donation canister missing. So, he checked the covert video and reportedly saw Brown enter the area, check the coast was clear, and then exit with the donations.
The owner of FBW reported that about $300 cash was inside the can.
On December 8, charges were filed and an arrest warrant issued for Brown.
If karma exists, Brown is in for a not so jolly Christmas.
UPDATE: On 5/29/07 Brown pled guilty and was given a 6-month suspended sentence and fines.

Yo Ma, Another Drink Please!
OKC, OK - Seems when the critically acclaimed Blue Man Group performed to a soldout crowd at the Ford Center November 12, one mother started the party a little early.
According to court records Dinah R. Shadid, 44, of Dallas was in OKC with her three children, ages 17, 16, and 12.
Seems an Oklahoma City vice officer, working at the Ford Center, came into contact with the Shadid quartet. The problem, three of the four Shadids were three sheets to the wind.
According to the probable cause affidavit, "Dinah Shadid told officers she had taken her children to a house somewhere off I-35 and Indian Hills Road. While at this house she provided vodka to her minor children..."
The mother of the year from Dallas was promptly booked into jail and her children taken into protective custody.
December 7, felony charges of providing alcohol to a minor where filed in Cleveland County (where the 'vodka' was allegedly consumed).
UPDATE: on 5/16/07 Dinah Shadid plead guilty and was given a 5-year deferred sentence, ordered to pay court costs and take parenting classes.

Don't Mess with a Man's Fries
Norman, OK -- Have you ever had an order of fries that were so good you'd be willing to the beat the crap out of someone for them? Well, apparently one inmate at the Cleveland County Detention Center did.
According to court papers, Gabriel Dramein Williams, 25, was enjoying his french fries in late October while being incarcerated for failure to pay over $8,000 in child support. That's when fellow inmate Tony V.Tieaskie (auto theft and larceny) decided to help himself to a few of Williams' fries.
Not a good idea when fries are the highlight to your highly restricted day.
Reportedly Williams, who apparently has trouble providing food for his own kid, wasn't in a sharing mood. Williams threw Tieaskie down some stairs and began punching, kicking, scratching and yelling at him.
Documents show that Tieaskie suffered a cheek fracture and had to receive stitches.
Williams was charged with assault and battery.
The real question though is exactly when did inmates start getting french fries?

Police Officer Goes Above & Beyond to Return Bike
Norman, OK -- Ever had something stolen from? You know, somebody takes something out of your yard, garage, car, office, etc. What about a bike? Sure, hundreds of those two-wheeled modes of transport are stolen every year in Oklahoma.
In many cases the owners don't even to bother to call police, and those that do hold little hope their bike will be returned.
Well, one Norman man's confidence in the vigilance of the police was restored when his Schwinn Ranger was located by police only 48-hours after it was stolen. And don't think this was just some drive-by sighting of the bike by police that led to its reuniting with its owner. This crime was solved Sherlock Holmes style.
According to court records, Richard Seals reported that his bicycle was stolen on October 2 in the 2200 block of West Main Street in Norman.
Seals was not able to provide police with a serial number, but did give them the combination to a U-style lock attached to the bike.
With little to go on, Norman police officer Shawn Hawkins was hot on the case.
According to officer Hawkins, he first turned to LeadsOnline.com, an Internet tool that tracks many types of business transactions, including items sold to pawn shops.
Hawkins was able to determine that a Schwinn bicycle, matching the description of Seals', was pawned only two blocks from and less than 15-minutes after Seals reported his stolen.
Hawkins went to EZ Pawn at 2321 West Main to investigate.
Hawkins immediately noticed the bike had a U-style lock on the handlebars. Hawkins tried the combination provided by Seals and the lock opened.
Pawn shop records revealed that the bike had been pawned by April Dawn Taylor, 23 of Lexington.
On October 20 Taylor was charged with the felony crimes of concealing stolen property and making a false declaration of ownership to a pawn broker.
Our hats off to Officer Hawkins!
Here's a tip for Seals, your handy dandy u-lock does a much better job when you actually USE IT.

Employee Hoses Little Axe Fire Department
Little Axe, OK -- C'mon we've all done it. Who hasn't taken home a few items from our work place - pencils, pens, Post-its, maybe even a stapler or tape dispenser. What about $4,400 in firefighting equipment?
According to court papers filed in Cleveland County, Anna Michelle Gonterman, 36, decided to take her work home with her - and hasn't been heard from since.
Little Axe Fire Commissioner Charles Early told police that Gonterman "had been on probation with the department and had been put on suspension due to some legal troubles." Court records go on to state "after being suspended [Gonterman] refused to return the equipment that was issued to her by the department and since has moved and cannot be contacted."
In late October Gonterman was charged with a single felony count of embezzlment.
Gonterman's case is still open.
UPDATE: On 12/27/06 the case was dismissed.

Dude - She Got a Dell
50" Plasma TV --- $3,500Dell Laptop Computer --- $1,800
Dell Desktop Computer --- $1,500
Your parents turning you in to the cops for felony identity and credit card theft --- PRICELESS!
Norman, OK -- Ah, the happiness and joy children can bring their parents. You deliver them into this world, you feed and provide for them selflessly knowing that one day they will make you proud -- This ain't one of those stories.
According to court records, Norman resident Michelle Lynne Young, 35, went on a bit of a pre-Christmas shopping spree. And why not, she had a new credit line with Dell computers and an itch for electronic goodies.
Just one problem, she stole her stepfather's identity (name and social security number) to get the credit line.
And what did Young's shopping spree total? A whopping $7,803.24.
And she probably would have gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for those pesky customer service people at Dell who are always on the lookout for fraudulent purchases.
Seems "Christy" with Dell Financial Services placed a call to the parent in question to verify he had indeed bought almost $8,000 in high tech entertainment.
Apparently the victim was suspicious of his stepdaughter's involvement immediately.
Here's where being a step-parent has perks over being a blood parent. Those pesky little things like a concious, blaming one's self, and forgiveness don't get in the way of picking up the phone and calling the cops.
Young has a date with the judge on December 19.
Might be a good time to look over Dell's return policy -- Or "Dude, you're going to jail!"
UPDATE: On 11/2/07 Young pled guilty and was given a 2-year suspended sentence.
Peeping, Pilfering and Panties - OH MY!
Norman, OK -- Voyeur did more than spy on his victims. Norman man allegedly took covert photos and videos and even stole computers and women's underwear.According to a Cleveland County criminal court affidavit, Nathan William Oathout, 24, is facing felony prosecution for nine charges ranging from burglary, concealing stolen property and peeping tom.
As reported by police, Oathout, who is listed a senior at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Price College of Business had developed a habit of spying on and stealing from his female neighbors.
A search warrant was executed on Oathout's Norman apartment which revealed various digital photos and videos of women engaged in "private activities." The images appeared to have been taken without the knowledge or consent of the victims.
Also discovered were numerous items that had previously been reported stolen and included two laptop computers, a stereo and a LCD television.
Court records also report that "women's underwear were discovered in great quantity..." Specifically, two or three canvas tote bags and one boot shoe box full of women's undergarments."
Oathout's troubles began on the 17th of June when he allegedly spied and took photos of a woman from outside her apartment bedroom window on Creekside Drive in Norman.
Police alleged Oathout used both a Sony digital camera and his cell phone camera.
Police allege Oathout repeated this activity two to three more times with different female victims.
Court records show that the female victims were able to identify photos of the panties found at Oathout's apartment to belong to them.
Oathout's next court date (a preliminary hearing conference) is set for December 12.
Love Thy Neighbor - If that doesn't work, shoot him!

OKC, OK -- Neighbor's digging dog leads to gun fire.
According to court papers, on October 7 James and Yoshiko Gilbert went over to their neighbor's home upset over his dog digging at their shared fence.
As the Gilbert's were knocking, the homeowner pulled up in his vehicle and asked what they wanted. The Gilbert's apparently became belligerent and an argument ensued. The victim stated that James reached into his back pocket and produced a handgun and pointed it at him.
Like a scene out of a Hollywood action movie, the victim grabbed James' hand and twisted it until he dropped the gun. The two then went at it "mano-y-mano."
Like any supportive wife, Yoshiko then picks up the gun and shoots the neighbor in the arm before both retreated to their respective homes.
Felony charges were filed against both Gilberts - James for pointing a firearm and Yoshiko for shooting her neighbor.
It's a Dog Eat Dog World
Del City, OK -- I thought it was annoying enough when the neighbor's dog would come over and poop in my yard. Imagine how one home owner felt when her neighbor's dog came over and ate her pet pooch!According to a small claims case filed in Oklahoma County in late October, Leemond Milton's apparently hungry dog came over and "brutally killed" the neighbors four-legged family member.
And what is a pet pooch worth these days? About $500 according to the court affidavit.
The owner's are set to square off December 11.

With Friends Like This...
Moore, OK -- Guy takes out frustration on "Friend's" car.
According to police, in late September, Adam Kevin Soriano, 22, was riding as a passenger in his friend's car when he became angry over recently being fired from his job.
Witnesses told police that Soriano "reached above his head and pulled down approximately two foot of headliner off the roof of the vehicle." As if that wasn't enough, when Soriano arrived at their destination he "exited the vehicle and then jumped onto the hood causing damage..."
The owner, and suspected former friend of Soriano, submitted an estimate for the needed repairs - $2,027.67.
Charges were filed October 27 in Cleveland County.
On November 13 the case was dismissed, "in the interest of justice."
