District Attorney Mashburn No Protector of Children - Refuses to file rape charges against online predator

1/5/07 -- Cleveland Co, OK - As reported by KFOR News Channel 4 last night, Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn is refusing to pursue felony rape and sodomy charges, as requested by police investigators, in online predator case.

According to published reports, a man met a 13-year old girl on the popular social networking site MySpace.com.

The man, Brett Yocham, 18, then secretly met the young victim in person at least twice. Each time, reportedly, supplying her with alcohol and then having sex with her.

Police investigated the alleged sex crime and reported that Yocham admitted to having sex with the minor.

After their investigation, police requested felony charges of first degree rape and sodomy be filed against Yocham.

D.A. Mashburn decided to ignore investigators requests and instead filed a single misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

In response to "why?", D.A. Mashburn blamed the victim and her family - stating, "we take into consideration what the victim wants to do [and] we talk to the victims family about it..."

JohnTV.com reminds readers that while prosecutors often consult with victims and their family about the severity of punishment to pursue against an offender (jail vs. no jail, 5-years vs. 20-years and life vs. death) it is not customary to not pursue the appropriate charge as requested by investigators.

Often times the victims of domestic physical and/or sexual abuse later recant and decide they do not want their scumbag husbands or boyfriends charged with crimes. Prosecutors across this county pursue those warranted criminal charges anyway, in "the best interest of justice."

In an age of "To Catch a Predator" and deviant men who use teenage girls as their playthings, D.A. Mashburn is proving to be a saint to predators and a contributor to the abuse of our children.

Norman Car Burglar Nabbed After Trying to Buy Accessories

1/3/08 -- Norman, OK - Here's another good reason to mail in those annoying warranty and registration cards you get with all those electronic Christmas goodies - they may lead to the arrest of a burglar!

According to Norman police, on November 30, Norman resident Ian Koetter-Manson realized his '05 Mazda RX8 had been broken into and his radar detector stolen.

The victim contacted police and then followed up with a call to the manufacturer of the radar detector to obtain the detector's serial number.

As luck would have it, the burglar had just placed a call to the manufacturer too!

Seems the burglar forgot to take the radar detector's power supply when he was snatching it out of the vehicle and was trying to order a new one.

The manufacturer provided investigators with the name, telephone number and mailing address for the suspected burglar - Stephen Phillip Liles, 21, living in the 2200 block of Harttons Drive in Norman.

When investigators went to Liles home to question him, Liles reportedly confessed in detail to the robbery.

Liles told investigators he was prowling around an apartment complex parking lot with a crowbar, looking for vehicles to burglarize.

When he saw the RX8 he told investigators, he "knew that it would have something good in it."

Liles was charged with felony burglary in Cleveland County on December 27.

Pauls Valley Man Charged with Biting Another's Ear Off!

11/27/07 -- Norman, OK - A man claiming he was trying to break up a fight has been charged with biting off the ear of another man.

According to court records, Joseph Edward Johnson, 27, of Pauls Valley, was arrested last saturday on complaints of maiming and public drunk.

Reportedly, a friend of Johnson's got into an altercation with another man in the 700 block of Asp in Norman. Johnson, wanting to be the ever vigilante BFF, decided to pull a Vincent van Gogh and promptly bit off the ear of the victim.

When police arrived they noted Johnson had a strong odor of alcohol about him and slurd speech (maybe he just had some ear stuck in his teeth).

The victim was rushed to the hospital.

The next day Johnson was charged with felony maiming and public drunk in Cleveland County.

Johnson was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.

Johnson's next court appearance is set for November 27.

Dad Gets Stabbed While Seeking Apology from Son

11/5/07 -- Moore, OK - Ah, the joys of fatherhood; that unexplainable sense of pride when your little boy becomes an adult - or, at least gets charged as an adult after he plunges a knife into your stomach and arm!

According to court records, Ernest Ray Robinson decided to confront his 17-year old son, Cameron Cortez Gaddis, on Oct. 27th. The reason for the confrontation? Seems Robinson was seeking an apology for an assault on him by Gaddis previously.

Seems Gaddis wasn't in an apologetic mood. According to police, Gaddis produced a knife and stabbed dear old dad in the chest. When dad tried to detain Gaddis, Gaddis allegedly stabbed him in the left arm.

Robison was treated and released from a local hosptial.

Gaddis has now been charged in Cleveland County with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Newalla Woman Faces Felony Animal Cruelty Charges

7/12/07 -- Newalla, OK - A Newalla woman has been charged with three felony counts of animal cruelty after several dead and dying cats were found in her residence.

According to court records, on June 13th, investigators went to the home of Tamara Doner and her husband at 20101 SE 134th.

The investigators were following up on an animal cruelty complaint.

Allegedly, when they arrived and entered the residence, they immediately "smelled feces, urine and decomposing animals."

Reportedly, the investigators observed at least 5 cats that were dead and an "unknown amount of cannibalized cats in the hallway and bedroom."

Four kittens and one adult cat was removed from the residence and taken by investigators to a shelter for medical care. One kitten reportedly died soon thereafter.

Doner has been charged in Cleveland County with three felony cruelty of animals complaints.

OU Freshman Charged with Embezzlement

7/12/07 -- Norman, OK - According to court records, University of Oklahoma freshman, Heather Kay Orr, 20, was charged with felony embezzlement June 25th in Cleveland County.

Allegedly, on March 3rd, Orr was working at Dowell Properties as a leasing agent when she failed to report/deposit a cash rent payment of $570.

When questioned by police, Orr "appeared to be upset and close to tears."

Before digging her hole any deeper, Orr took a tip from all those C.S.I shows and requested an attorney.

OU's online directory did not indicate if Orr was majoring in finance - lets hope not.

Party-Goer Marinated in Gasoline Set Ablaze

7/5/07 -- Norman, OK - Take a note SideBarBog fans... "Do not soak your party guests in gasoline and then joke around with a butane lighter."

Seems in October of 2006 a Moore resident learned that lesson the hard way.

According to court records, and published reports, Michael Allen Eckhoff, 24, was charged in the death of Sampson Levi Evey, 22. This after Evey reportedly tipped over in a chair he was seated in an knocked a container of gasoline over, soaking himself, his clothes and the immediate area.

Eckhoff, who is identified as Evey's cousin, allegedly proceeded to stand over Evey and lit a butane lighter, causing Evey to become engulfed in flames.

As reported by the Pauls Valley Daily Democrat, "Witnesses said Eckhoff meant his gesture with the lighter 'as a joke.' In filing the second-degree manslaughter charge, which refers to the killing of someone by the 'culpable negligence of another,' prosecutors probably felt Eckhoff 'should have known better than to hold a lighter next to the victim and light it.'"

Though Evey was taken by helicopter to Baptist Hospital in OKC, he later died of his injuries.

The second-degree manslaughter charge is punishable by imprisonment for not more than four years and not less than two years, or by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding $1,000, or both fine and imprisonment, according to state statutes.

Wal-Mart Thievery Goes High Tech

7/9/07 -- Cushing, OK - An Oklahoma City woman is accused of being involved in a crime ring that manufactures fake retail receipts and UPC labels.

According to court records, Elvia McGinnis, 48, of Oklahoma City, was in a Cushing Wal-Mart on April 13th trying to return one of those trendy little MP3 players - a ZenV Media Player to be exact.

The problem? McGinnis had just returned an identical media player the day before. Oh yeah, and the receipt she presented and the UPC bar code on the back of the product were counterfeit!

Investigators alleged that McGinnis may be part of a crime ring that manufactures their own authentic looking Wal-Mart receipts in an attempt to defraud retailers out of cash.

Seems McGinnis' alleged crime spree started to unravel when she returned the MP3 player that she had originally purchased for about $80. However, the receipt she produced when returning the item for cash indicated she had paid $348 - Potentially a $268 profit/loss had the scam worked.

On April 25th, McGinnis was charged in Payne County with the misdemeanor crime of attempted false pretense.

7/3/07 -- Norman, OK - Seems some dope smoking employees of Burger King dished out a bit of revenge on a co-worker for snitching them out.

According to court records, on June 14th, police were called to a Burger King in Norman. The caller claimed that BK employees were smoking marijuana on the restaurant's patio area (at least they had plenty of snacks around in case they got the munchies).

When police arrived they found two employees, Edward Lee Moore IV (18) and Myesha Joy Smith (22), in possession of a small amount of pot. Each was issued a $300 ticket.

Realizing it takes quite awhile to pay a $300 fine when working for minimum wage, the duo decided to enact some revenge on the suspected snitch - a fellow female co-worker who apparently lived in an apartment facing the BK.

Moore and Smith (did we mention Smith was the manager of the BK in question) decided to pay the alleged snitch a house call.

According to police, Moore and Smith kicked in the victim's door and assaulted her.

The same day, Moore and Smith were charged with felony assault and battery and burglary.

When interviewed by KFOR News Channel 4's Ali Meyer, Moore claimed he's not a woman beater by nature, he was just getting even for the female victim calling the cops on him.

Cleveland County Police Briefs

The following are recent stories of law and disorder in Cleveland County Oklahoma, that while mentionable, do not warrant their own individual article.

Moore, OK - On June 13th, 39-year-old Moore resident Rodney Owen Cartmill was charged with the misdemeanor crime of threatening a violent act.

According to court records, on May 25th Cartmill telephoned an ex-girlfriend and told her he was going to "kill her, her child, her new boyfriend and then himself."

Cartmill reportedly (and stupidly) told at least two more witnesses the of the plan. Cartmill allegedly had even given himself a deadline to complete the murder suicide.

Cartmill is out on a $5,000 bond while he awaits trial.
Moore, OK - According to court records, 18-year-old Jerad Keith Gravitt placed a very colorful telephone call to an individual he believed had been granted a Victim's Protective Order (VPO) against him. Reportedly, Gravitt told the individual, "Hey motherfucker, you think a piece of paper is going to stop a bullet?"

Apparently Gravitt needs to stop listening to the grape vine because there was no VPO filed against him (at the time). But, he is now facing a misdemeanor charge for placing a harassing telephone call.

According to court records, Gravitt originally denied placing any phone calls to the victim. That is until investigators told him they were going to review security video from the convenience store where the calls originated from. "Dooooough!"
Moore, OK - On June 13th, Andrew Nickalus Perry, 31, of Lindsey, was been charged with larceny of merchandise from a retailer.

According to court records, Perry pilfered $381.36 from the local Wal-Mart in Moore.

And what was so important to Perry that he risked criminal prosecution and possibly jail?

Reportedly, he was witnessed placing magazines, trading cards and a steering wheel cover in a Wal-Mart sack and exiting without paying for the items.

Trading cards, Magazines and a steering wheel cover? Can't they also charge him with being a total geek!

Norman Man Provides 12-yr Old with Booze and Pot

6/29/07 -- Norman, OK - Ahh neighborly love... isn't it great when your kids can trouble your neighbors for a cup of sugar, an extra hammer to hang a picture or even a few mixed drinks and some marijuana for your pre-teen son or daughter?

Meet neighbor of the year Gary Allen Campbell, 44, living on Brandywine Lane in Norman.

Seems on June 6th, a 12-year old neighbor boy was found in Campbell's apartment by the boys mother. This, after her 9-year old child told her his brother was in Campbell's residence consuming alcohol and marijuana.

The mother called police who located the boy and transported him to the hospital. According to court papers, the boys BAC was .079.

The boy allegedly told police he was given "KD whiskey" and smoked pot from a glass pipe provided by Campbell.

When investigators questioned Campbell, he admitted to giving the pre-teen three mixed drinks containing Kentucky Deluxe whiskey and Coke. Campbell denied providing the child with marijuana.

On the 13th, Campbell was charged with the felony crimes of furnishing alcohol to a minor and causing or encouraging a minor to commit a drug related crime.

Peeing Party-Goer Gets Hauled off to Jail

6/18/07 -- OKC, OK - Have you ever done something while liquored up at a party that just didn't seem so smart the next day? Ever gone to jail for that not so smart idea?

Meet 19-year old Michael Anthony Collins (not him pictured left).

Last Wednesday, at about 4am, police were called to an apartment complex at 5762 NW 16th in response to loud music coming from a party.

When police arrived they saw several people "laughing and talking on the balcony" of the apartment in question.

Officers report that as they got closer they witnessed Collins "with his shorts down to his knees, urinating off the balcony."

Police claim they had to beat on the apartment door for "some time" before Collins' roommate answered.

Collins was placed under arrest and taken to jail for public indecency.

Ex Employee Charged with Robbing Norman Subway

5/26/07 -- OKC, OK - Here's a tip, if you're gonna rob a Subway sandwich shop, don't rob the one you recently worked at - your fellow employees may just recognize your voice.

According to police, around 11pm on May 14th, two men walked into the Subway at 2339 West Main in Norman.

The first man, described as a black male, was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandanna covering his face. He also had a towel wrapped around what he claimed was a gun. The other man, described as a Mexican male.

The two men reportedly forced the cashier to open the safe and give them its contents (approx. $550).

The entire robbery was captured on surveillance cameras equipped with an audio recording feature.

When the tape was played back, a Subway district manager recognized the black male's voice.

The robber was identified as Dante Thomas Kennybrew, 25, a former Subway employee.

When questioned by police, Kennybrew allegedly confessed to the robbery and wasted no time trying to hang the entire robbery on his accomplice, Vicente "Vincent" Batrez Jr., 19 of Norman.

According to police, Kennybrew claimed the robbery idea was Batrez's and that he didn't keep any of the money and that he did not have a gun or any other weapon under the towel he had wrapped around his hand.

When confronted at his apartment by police, Batrez allegedly admitted to his participation but said he split the stolen loot with Kennybrew and that Kennybrew had a hand drill concealed to look like a gun under the towel during the robbery.

Kennybrew was charged with felony robbery by force and fear on the 18th.

Batrez was charged the same day with the same felony crime.

Bond has been set at $25,000 for both men.

UPDATE: On 11/19/07 Kennybrew pled guilty and was sentenced to 12-years in prison. On 10/15/07 Batrez was sentenced to 12-years in prison with all but first 6-years suspended. Batrez's mug shot and prison record can been found here.

Sex at the Mall Lands Two OKC Teens in Jail

5/25/07 -- OKC, OK - You've heard the saying, "when the car is rocking, don't bother knocking." Well, it seems security at a local mall doesn't quite play by those rules.

According to police records, on April 16th at about 5pm, security guard Joseph Borst, of Penn Square Mall, was "on foot patrol in the lower level parking garage when he observed a black 2000 Ford Focus to be shaking back and forth." As the ever vigilant guard approached the vehicle he "heard moaning coming from inside."

Closer examination revealed two teens, "seated in the back seat, completely nude."

Robert John Kenyon, 19, driver (in more ways than one) and Samantha Renee Mansfield, 18 (along for 'the ride') reportedly at a combined weight of 465 pounds were just giving the shocks a good work over.

Penn Square Mall, not known for its live nudie shows, promptly placed the duo under arrest and escorted them to the mall security office to await police.

When police arrived, it was learned the vehicle (aka, Love Machine) belonged to Kenyon's mother. She was called to retrieve her car (and hopefully asked to bring a towel to sit on for the drive home).

We here at SideBarBlog would like to point out that Kenyon's court ordered anger management classes (from a prior domestic abuse conviction) must be working (at least that day).

Lexington Man Charged with Animal Cruelty

5/24/07 -- Lexington, OK - A Lexington man is accused of injuring two cows after dragging them behind his truck.

According to court records, Matthew Ray Howry, 32, agreed to keep two cows (8 months old) on his property for another man's sons. The sons were planing to show the cows at F.F.A.

Two weeks later, the owner of the cows paid a visit to Howry and discovered the cows to "have ligature marks around their necks ... their heads to be swollen ... [and] one of the cows was malnourished and would not move."

Howry reportedly told the owner he had pulled the cows behind his truck with a rope to "break them [in]."

The owner of the cows took them to a local veterinarian and then called police.

The vet determined one of the cows had cervical neck damage and was in "bad shape."

When police asked Howry if the cows resisted when he was pulling them with his truck, he allegedly replied, "a little, at first."

On May 17th Howry was charged with felony cruelty to animals.

Moore Man Arrested for Making His Own Checks

5/24/07 -- Moore, OK - Ever hear the saying, "you can write your own check"? Seems a Moore man decided to take it a literally.

According to court records, Mark Allen Cain, 28, has been putting his computer and printer to use making (and apparently trying to cash) his own homemade checks.

Reportedly, police began an investigation on Cain after an individual was arrested for trying to pass one of Cain's checks.

Allegedly, Cain was using magnetic ink to create the checks and then trading them for drugs.

Police report that after they seized Cain's computers they also discovered evidence he was creating fake ID's also.

Cain was charged May 17th in Cleveland County with felony computer crimes.

Seems Cain is no stranger to the Oklahoma judicial system.

OU Student Charged with Breaking and Entry

5/21/07 -- Norman, OK - According to court records, Nicholas Anthony Palmisano, 25, was making himself at home in the kitchen when police were summoned. Why? Seems Palmisano was not in his own kitchen. As a matter of fact, the woman living in the home told police she doesn't even know Palmisano.

Reportedly, on the night of May 13th, Palmisano entered a partially opened garage door in the 1100 block of Caracara Dr. in Norman. Once inside, the resident saw Palmisano in her kitchen and called police.

When police arrived, they found Palmisano laying on the floor in the living room.

Palmisano appeared to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest.

On the 15th Palmisano was charged with entering a building with unlawful intent.

The University of Oklahoma (OU) identifies Palmisano as a senior in the Price College of Business.

Court papers and OU list Palmisano's residence as the 200 block of East 31st in Edmond.

UPDATE: On 6/14/07 Palmisano pled guilty and was given 10-month deferred.

Drunk Driver Takes Aim at Good Samaritan

5/16/07 -- Newalla, OK - Ever wonder why people seem hesitant to come to the aid of others in need? Well, a Newalla man is probably wishing he had hesitated before confronting a crash victim who may have had one to many.

According to court records, Rhonda Jean Green-Thomas, 41, was driving in the 17000 block of Valley View Rd. in Newalla when she lost control and crashed into a ditch.

The crash was witnessed by Kevin Rogers.

Rogers approached the scene and noticed Green appeared to be intoxicated. Fearing she was trying to leave the scene and drive away, Rogers seized Green's keys and told her he was calling police.

Green apparently was going to have none of that as she promptly produced a pistol from her waistband.

Allegedly, Green fired at least one round at Rogers as he grabbed her arm.

As Rogers was walking back to his home, he reported that Green came up behind him an struck him in the head.

Rogers was able to flag down a passing firetruck. The firemen then detained Green until police arrived.

Police report that when they tried to speak to Green she became combative and would only yell "vulgarities" at them.

With the aid of a bomb sniffing dog, Green's gun was found in a wooded area near the scene.

Last week, Green was charged with felony assault and battery with a deadly weapon and carrying a weapon while under the influence.

UPDATE: On 6/8/07 Green was sentenced to 10-years suspended.

Teen Teller Takes Bank for $14K

5/16/07 -- Norman, OK - Ever wonder how bank employees ignore all those stacks of cash just laying around? Well, it seems the cash was too tempting for a Norman bank teller now accused of taking his work home with him - to the tune of $14,000.

According to court records, Anthony Michael Johnson, 19, was working for the Norman branch of the Republic Bank in March.

Reportedly, Johnson was caught on bank surveillance tape stealing bank funds from March 29 until April 7th.

According to court records, Johnson confessed to police investigators to the theft.

Police recovered $2,400 from Johnson's apartment. Prosecutor's alleged Johnson spent part of the money on a Playstation 3 video game system.

Approximately $11,000 remains unaccounted for.

Last week Johnson was charged with felony embezzlement in Cleveland County.

UPDATE: On 9/26/07 Johnson received a deferred sentence.

Brother Accused of Trying to Have His Sister Murdered

5/16/07 -- Lexington, OK - Brotherly love hit a new low as an Oklahoma prison inmate is facing additional charges after allegedly soliciting other prisoners to kill his sister.

According to court papers, Bruce Lee Shattuck, 56, currently serving a 20-year sentence for a solicitation of murder conviction in 2005, allegedly tried a repeat performance this past October.

Reportedly, while a guest of the Joseph Harp Correctional Center, Shattuck attempted to recruit other inmates to kill his sister, Sandra Louise Lee.

Allegedly, Shattuck provided inmates with a map to his sister's house and offered to pay $2,500 if she was killed.

Solicitation for murder in the first degree charges were filed in Cleveland County May 4th.

Assault, Drugs and Pit Bulls OH MY!

5/9/07 -- Payne County, OK - Ever see those signs that read, "Never mind the gun, beware of the DOG!" Seems a Stillwater man could use one of those ~ Oh yeah, and a good lawyer.

According to court records, on March 12th a black male knocked on the apartment door of Alvin Henderson. When Henderson opened the door, the man identified himself as a gas utility employee and asked to enter the apartment.

Henderson explained that his apartment did not utilize gas and told the man to leave.

A few minutes later the man returned. When Henderson opened the door "the male pushed his way into the apartment." This is probably where you're thinking to yourself, "Oh man, this is gonna be a really bad day for Henderson." Not, so (well, not yet) as Henderson happens to own two pit bulls. Reportedly, the "two pit bulls attacked the male intruder and began biting him."

Not one to willingly become pit bull chow, the intruder allegedly produced a knife and began stabbing the two dogs as three females helped him retreat to his car to seek medical treatment.

You'd think the story would end there with "would-be robber thwarted (and almost eaten) by pit bulls arrested at hospital."

You'd be wrong.

Police later identified the would-be robber as Keith Dwayne Alston, 36, of Ponca City.

Alston's three female companions were identified as Remmessia Coburn, Lindsey Springer, and Calinda Lee.

Reportedly, the foursome said that had traveled to Henderson's apartment to check on a female friend they feared was being abused by Henderson. When Henderson denied Alston entry, they took it upon themselves to force their way in.

Further investigation may prove the entire ordeal had more to do with drugs than friends being overly concerned.

Seems a witness saw one of women (Springer) hide a bag of marijuana and cocaine before taking Alston to the hospital. A search of the getaway car produced more drugs, paraphernalia and a bloody knife.

Police obtained a search warrant for Henderson's apartment. There they found a marijuana trafficker's starter kit ~ several packed bags of pot, scales and baggies.

Police have asked for charges to be filed against everyone involved.

Last week Alston was charged in Payne County with entering a building with unlawful intent, assault and battery and carrying a concealed weapon.

Personally, we here at SideBarBlog would love the jury to stand up in court and proclaim... "Your honor, we the jury think it was Alston, in the apartment, with the bloody Knife." Can you tell we are a fan of the board game CLUE?

Cable Installer Steals Crescent Woman's Cash

5/7/07 -- Crescent, OK - A Crescent woman orders cable services and is relieved of $227 in cash by greedy installer.

Seems that until recently Jerry Lee Jackson II, 25, was working as a contract cable installer for Pioneer Telephone.

On January 13th Jackson and another man were installing cable TV and DSL on behalf of Pioneer and Tri Star Communications in the home of Amy M. of Crescent.

According to court records, during the install Amy was called away to pick up her child at school due to an ice storm.

When Amy returned, and after the workers had left, she noticed $227 was missing from her purse. It just so happens that her purse was kept under a table next to where Jackson had installed a cable outlet.

Amy called police, who in turn contact Pioneer Telephone. Pioneer explained that the installers were actually employees of Tri Star.

When police contacted the owner of Tri Star, Todd Hoskins, he advised he would have the two employees report to the police station with him and that if necessary he would personally pay for a lie detector test to be performed on his employees to determine the truth.

When Hoskins arrived at the police station he gave the investigating officer $227 to be given to Amy. Hoskins stated he did not want his company's integrity jeopardized by actions of one of his employees.

After questioning, Jackson reportedly confessed to taking the money, stating he needed it for groceries.

last week, petit larceny charges were filed against Jackson in Logan County.

Noble Man Arrested for BB Gun Driveby

5/7/07 -- Noble, OK - Does firing a BB gun from your car at another equal a drive-by, road rage or just plain stupidity? Well, you're in luck, cuz we can ask Noble resident Allen Ray Admire, 29.

Seems on May 1st Admire was just cruising along SE 156th when he decided to point a BB gun out his car window and allegedly fired it at another vehicle behind him. As the vehicle attempted to pass Admire, he fired again (no mention if he yelled "Yeeee Hawwww!" while crushing a beer can against his forehead).

As luck would have it, the victim spotted a patrol car and flagged the officer down. The officer in turn flagged Admire down.

While searching Admire's vehicle, a BB gun was found under the passenger's seat. In addition to the gun, a "cane sword" was also found (WOW, people really do buy that ninja crap at the mall).

Seems Admire's memory was a little sketchy as to when and where he pointed the BB gun. Thankfully, Admire could count on one of the two ladies riding in his vehicle to help him out.

Milissa Craumer told police that Admire did indeed shoot at the vehicle while it was behind him and once again as it passed.

Admire was arrested and then released on a personal recognizance bond (aka, get out of jail free).

The next day Admire was charged with felony discharging a weapon from a moving vehicle and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

OU Student Charged with Felony Theft of US Mail

5/7/07 -- Norman, OK - A University of Oklahoma student is captured by passersby, arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly stealing U.S. mail.

According to court records, Michael Eliot King, 26, was playing his own version of 'post office' in the 800 block of Fairway Drive on May 1st.

Witnesses in the area claim they saw King open a mailbox and "take 15-20 pieces of mail" (man, we thought we got alot of junk mail). King then allegedly placed the ill-gotten mail under his jacket and tried to leave the area. Unfortunately for King, the witnesses had other ideas and "pursued and apprehended" King and called police.

When police arrived they found the mail and glass pipe in King's jacket.

The next day, King was charged with felony burglary and receiving stolen property.

King was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

King's next court appearance is set for May 15th.

According to the university of Oklahoma Web site, King is listed as a freshman and resides in the 800 block of Cardan Place in Moore.

Loud Music & a Bad Attitude Gets Newalla Man Locked Up

5/7/07 -- Newalla, OK - Seems a Newalla man was rocking out rather loudly and wasn't about to let no cop tell him otherwise.

According to court records, on April 28th a Cleveland County Sheriff's Deputy was dispatched to investigate a loud noise complaint at 31 Barker Drive in Newalla.

The owner of the residence, Dale Beesley, 53, wasn't up to being a good host. When asked by the officer to turn the music down, Beesley reportedly replied, "I don't think I'm going to do that."

Mrs. Beesley however was much more hospitable and agreed to lower the volume. At that the deputy left.

Within minutes, the Beesley's neighbors were calling 9-1-1 again complaining that not only had the music been turned back up, but Beesley was now yelling profanities, banging on their shared fence and flashing his cars headlights into their home (as witnessed by the deputy when he returned).

When the officer asked Beesley to once again turn down the music he allegedly replied, "We don't have to!"

At that Beesley was placed under arrest after being forcefully taken to the ground and placed into custody.

While being transported to the county jail, Beesley reportedly beat his head against the patrol car's window until it broke loose from its frame.

Last week, Beesley was charged in Cleveland County with disturbing the peace and malicious injury to property.

Beesley was released on a $1,000 bond.

Beesley's next date with the judge is set for June 12th.

OKC Man Charged with Stalking Hobby Lobby Cashier

5/7/06 -- OKC, OK - Who hasn't noticed a good looking guy or girl working as a cashier at the local convenience, retail or grocery store?

Sometimes you even find yourself intentionally going through their line every visit, just so you can smile, say hello and maybe even flirt a bit. How about calling the cashier to tell her that you're watching her Right Now!

Meet major nut case Teddy Allen Parker, 31, of Oklahoma City.

Seems Parker likes to shop at the Hobby Lobby on South Western. Seems Parker also has taken a liking to one of the cashiers at that location - a really creepy liking.

We'll call the victim "Lisa."

It all started innocently enough last April 17th when Parker purchased a few items at "Lisa's" register.

The next day Parker called the store and asked for Lisa. When Lisa answered, Parker began telling her how beautiful she is (in his best heavy breathing voice no doubt). Not knowing who Parker was, Lisa reportedly hung up and returned to her register.

According to court records, over the next four days, Parker continually visited the store and/or attempted to reach Lisa on the phone.

Reportedly, on April 22nd, Parker called Lisa while she was at work. Parker identified himself as "Paul" and told Lisa she looked beautiful and that he could see her. Parker then described to Lisa what the last person she checked out had purchased.

Lisa reported to police that is when she became fearful of Parker.

The next day Parker again visited the Hobby Lobby. Lisa said she saw Parker and ran to the back of the store to hide.

Parker allegedly approached to Hobby Lobby employees and asked where Lisa was. When they told him they did not know, her reportedly became upset and started yelling, "Where is she at? I thought she got off at 6 P.M., where the hell is she?"

The following day Parker called the store an identified himself as Lisa's friend "Teddy."

Lisa told police she was able to positively identify Parker and obtained his true legal name by visiting the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC) Web site.

Parker, who, according to court records also goes by the alias "Swifty Felipe" (hey, you can't make this up) was charged with felony stalking last week in Cleveland County.

Parker was arrested and originally ordered to pay a $100,000 bond. Parker was released when that bond amount was apparently lowered to just $2,500.

Parker's next date with the judge is set for May 15th.

According to OSCN, Parker has quite the history with police and the judicial system.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Parker has had 7 VPO's filed against him. In addition, Parker, a convicted felon, was last convicted of stalking in 2004.

Ladies, you've been warned.

OKC Man Charged with Starving Cattle

5/7/07 -- Cleveland County, OK - An Oklahoma City man was criminally charged last week with the starvation deaths of up to 40 cows. Additionally, 15 others cows were taken into protective custody by Animal Welfare.

Michael Gene Ross, 45, was charged in Cleveland County District Court with 10 counts of cruelty to animals and 10 counts of leaving a carcass in a certain place.

Records show that Ross lives in the 3400 block of North Blackwelder in Oklahoma City.

Investigators sent to look into possible animal cruelty found the dead and rotting carcasses in the 10000 block of SE 179th in Norman.

Ross was granted an own recognizance bond.

Ross is scheduled to next appear in court tomorrow.

Norman Woman Turns Herself in for Embezzlement

Meet Beverly C. Wyatt, 53, of Norman. Seems until January 22nd Wyatt was working at a Pizza Hut in Noble. That is until her conscience got the best of her (don't you hate when that happens) and she quit her job and admitted to stealing from her employer.

According to court records, Wyatt admitted to stealing the cash from the nightly deposits and then making it up the next day.

Wyatt reportedly did not explain why she took the money. Wyatt did however state her daughter was having surgery soon and that it would be better if she just quit.

Prosecutors alleged Wyatt stole almost $4,500.

Last week Wyatt was charged with felony embezzlement.

Granny Bilks Antique Vendors Out of Thousands

4/27/07 -- Stillwater, OK - Just when you thought nothing was as sweet, innocent and trustworthy as a silver haired granny - she turns out to be public enemy number one!

According to court records, Arlene Jo Brooks, 72, had a job at the Antique Mall of Stillwater.

Brooks' duties included selling vendor booths and collecting cash from the items sold - and boy did she know how to collect it!

Seems Brooks was allegedly working a little scam of her own to net thousands (hey, knitting needles, soft foods, and Depends are expensive).

Reportedly, Brooks' scam began to unravel after she rented booth #85 to a Mr. Burruss.

Burruss noticed that approximately $1,795.10 worth of goods had been sold from his unmanned booth, but he had yet to be paid by Brooks.

Burruss reported the apparent theft to police. While investigating the alleged crime, police soon realized Burruss was not the only victim of this silver haired crime spree.

A quick tally showed that 29 other antique mall vendors had not been paid just over $12,000 for items sold.

The Antique Mall of Stillwater is now closed and Brooks is facing felony embezzlement charges.

Meet the penis pointer in question, Kelly Eugene Guinn, 43, of Cushing.

Seems this past Tuesday, Guinn was minding his own business (#1 to be exact) when off-duty police officer Tully Folden happened to stroll by.

Folden couldn't help but notice Guinn was perched on the edge of his porch and urinating into yonder bushes.

Guinn, noticing Folden, promptly turned, "waving his penis" and stated "you want some of this?"

Apparently he did, as Folden placed Guinn under arrest (I bet he won't be repeating that offer while in jail).

On Wednesday, Guinn was charged with misdemeanor outraging the public decency.

C'mon, we were hoping for something more original like "assault with a friendly weapon" or even "hand to gland combat."

Hotels Have A lot of Ammenities - But You Can't Take Them With You!

Seems an Enid man was thinking bigger than toiletries.

Meet Michael Scott Gehring, 28, a former guest of the Southgate Motel in Enid.

According to court records, Gehring decided to checkout February 13th with a few more items than he checked-in with.

Reportedly, Gehring was seen loading the hotel's bedding, towels, 24" color TV, microwave, refrigerator and space heaters into his Lincoln (man, my dad was right, they really do have alot of trunk space).

In addition to the 'freebies' Gehring made off with, he reportedly did $300 in damage to his room.

Last week Gehring was charged in Garfield County with felony grand larceny and maliciousness.

Gehring's bond has been set at $10,000.

Pump Pirate Aids in Own Arrest

4/27/07 -- Moore, OK - It's no secret that gasoline is expensive. The super sexy SideBarBlog mini van costs about $45 to fill up! But high prices at the pump are no excuse for criminal stupidity.

Meet Karen Lynn Henderson, 46, of Moore, Oklahoma.

Seems Henderson was in need of some go-go juice earlier this month. So she stopped in to the Murphy USA gas station on 19th in Moore.

Henderson pumped $10.04 in gas. She then realized she didn't have any money on her.

According to the station attendant, Henderson offered to leave her Oklahoma State driver's license as security so she could go home, get some money and return.

The problem? Henderson never came back. Or at least not before the attendant's patience wore thin and he called police.

Last week Henderson was charged in Cleveland County with misdemeanor violation of the pump piracy act.

Here's what we at the SideBarBlog don't get - If you're gonna steal gas, first, fill up the tank, second, don't leave your ID behind. Lastly, in case Henderson just thought she could get away with pilfering $10.04 of gas in exchange for her ID - Someone needs to tell Henderson it costs $10 just to replace a lost driver's license in Oklahoma!

Trucker Absconds with $50K in CVC Fliers

4/27/07 -- Stillwater, OK - Seems a trucker recently made of with a trailer full of fliers and hasn't been seen since.

It all started oddly enough on Friday the 13th of this month. That's when Isaac Nyachwaya Simiti, 31, of Panther Expedite trucking and Preprint Logistics pulled into Quebecor World to pickup a load of fliers to be delivered to Texas.

According to court papers, everything was going fine, and after the 375,000 fliers were loaded into Simiti's truck he checkout and drove off with them.

Reportedly, Simiti returned soon thereafter claiming his truck was "over weight."

When a "resolution was not reached," a decision was made to offload the fliers.

Obviously that was not acceptable to Simit and he drove away with the cargo, valued at $50,000.

Investigators inquired to Simit's employer and they informed police Simit was considered absent without leave and that they wished the load to be considered stolen.

Simit's employer explained to police that the missing load of fliers was their responsibility and could cost their company the multi-million dollar contract with CVC Pharmacy.

Simit is described as residing in Arlington, Texas.

Felony embezzlement charges have been filed against Simit.

OSU Student Charged with Breaking & Entry

4/27/07 -- Norman, OK - An OSU student is facing some serious charges after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home last week.

According to police, Brandon Keith Stinnett, 26, was upset that his girlfriend (Kaycie) had ended their relationship. Reportedly, Stinnett returned to his former girlfriend's home at about 2:00am, broke out a bedroom window and entered the residence. Kaycie, fearing for her safety, called police.

When police arrived they found Stinnett in the living room and Kaycie hiding in another part of the house.

Stinnett is now charged with breaking and entering.

It's Hard Out There for a Thief

4/27/07 -- Norman, OK - A Midwest City man's attempt to return to the scene of the crime to pilfer more merchandise results in self mutilation.

According to court records, James Thomas Pascoe, 22, of Midwest City is a big fan of the Super Target in Norman. I mean, who isn't? They've got low prices, a wide selection of merchandise and those pesky asset protection dudes with their dozens of strategically placed security cameras.

Seems on March 6th Pascoe was seen, on archived security video, to allegedly steal a Cobra radar detector, while concealing his activities "while hiding behind other merchandise."

Not content with his latest shopping spree, Pascoe returned to the Target on March 29th where he was quickly recognized by security.

According to police, Pascoe was followed on foot and via camera as he made his way around the store.

Pascoe's first stop was in hardware, where he "grabbed some razor blades" and a pair of snipes(c'mon you can't expect a guy to bring his own larceny tools).

Pascoe then made a b-line to the electronics section. There he grabbed an LCD remote and was seen "using the razor blades ... to cut the remote control out of the package."

As luck would have it, Pascoe, who is obviously not as sharp as the razor blade he was using, sliced open his finger and began bleeding.

Instead of calling for a "bio hazard cleanup on aisle 4," Pascoe did what any self-respecting thief would do and headed straight to men's wear.

There Pascoe reportedly used "several clothing items (2 pairs of jeans and 1 shirt) to wipe the blood" shooting from his finger.

Then it hit him - Pascoe realized Target has a first aid section! So, he dropped the now gangsterized clothing and opened a box of large Band-Aids.

Completely famished from his high-jinks, Pascoe reportedly headed to the deli section, bought some food and left the store.

Pascoe was identified in a police photo lineup and allegedly confessed when confronted by police.

Last week Pascoe was charged with larceny of merchandise and malicious injury (to Target's property, not himself).

OU Student Charged with Embezzling from Target

4/27/07 -- Norman, OK - Who doesn't enjoy getting a gift card from a big box retailer like Target? I mean they carry everything! Unfortunately, they may carry some time in the slammer for one OU student.

Seems Katrina Ann Smith was working for Target, as a cashier, until recently.

According to court records, Smith was a little too tempted by the plethora of gift cards near her register (hey, we understand, they can be like a siren's song to the shopping challenged).

Seems that from February to March of this year, Smith treated herself to over $450 worth of gift card giving (make that receiving).

Prosecutors allege that Smith confessed when questioned by Target loss prevention.

Last week, Smith was charged in Cleveland County with a single misdemeanor count of embezzlement.

According to records at the University of Oklahoma, Smith is currently enrolled as a junior in the College of Mass Communications.

And, according to her personal website, she is very opposed to genocide in Darfur (Western Sudan).

No word if Smith was planning to use her $450 in ill-gotten gift cards to feed the starving children of Darfur, or just buy some new lip gloss!

Norman Woman Charged with Assaulting Husband with Her Car

4/27/07 -- Norman, OK - A Norman woman is facing several criminal charges after she allegedly tried to run over her husband in a convenience store parking lot.

According to court records, on April 23, Heather Linn Allison, 32, had been drinking when she and her husband got into an argument at the Circle K on West Main in Norman.

At some point, Allison allegedly tried to run over her husband, striking him with her vehicle and causing injury. Allison fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.

Allison is now charged with felony assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, DUI and driving without a license.

Allison was released after posting a $20,000 bond.

Allison has a May 8th date with the judge.

Florida Woman Charged with Telephoning Threats to OU

4/24/07 -- Norman, OK - A Florida woman who has been allegedly sending threats to members of the OU African American Studies Department for over two years is charged with a crime.

According to court records, Rose Njoroge of Tallahassee, Florida, "over the past two years ... has sent several obscene, harassing and threatening email messages and voice messages... "

The probable cause affidavit details some of the alleged unsolicited correspondence sent by Njoroge as follows;

Excerpt from email sent. "I am also warning you Dr. Heiser, if OU continues to send any threats or letters to me or my son about fees or tuition after the school benefited from my son's abuse, this will end in tragedy!"
Excerpt from another email to another person from OU. "Remember you will pay for this, no matter what it will cost me, and no matter how long it takes!"
Excerpt from an email to the same person above. "Nigger, I am monitoring everything you do before you are locked up with other criminal perverts! Every time you look at your stupid nigger face in the mirror, remember time for reckoning is approaching!"

Investigators initiated an "email header trace" and tracked the emails to Tallahassee, Florida, where Njoroge lives. Additionally, "the caller ID and phone number left on several of the voice messages is Njoroge's home phone number."

Finally, "the caller's voice has been identified as Rose Njoroge by several [of] the OU faculty members that have met Njorog."

On April 19, Njoroge was charged in Cleveland County with the misdemeanor crime of making harassing telephone calls.

Man Robbed in Norman Hotel May Have Some Explaining to Do

4/24/07 -- Norman, OK - An Independence MO. man is reportedly robbed of his money, personal items and his vehicle while staying at a Norman hotel. Court records shed light on and cast questions of the facts around the case - begging the question - Was the victim rolled by a hooker he had hired?

The story was originally reported by the Norman Transcript and other media outlets as a simple robbery after the victim, James Sprake, allegedly answered a knock to his hotel room door.

The robbery occurred in the early morning hours of March 22nd.

Sprake told police that three people entered his room and robbed him at gun point.

The three then drove away in Sprake's 2003 Lincoln Navigator.

The alleged robbers were described as two males and a teenage female.

While media reports would have you believe Sprake was the victim of an anonymous robbery, recently released court records show an interesting 'relationship' between Sprake and at least one of his robbers.

All three alleged robbers have been identified as Ashley Dawn Loftis, 18, Zachary Ryan Suter (Yukon, OK), 31, Steven Alexis Sanchez (Moore, OK), 21.

According to the probable cause affidavit, "Between the 19th and 22nd days of March 2007, James Sprake (victim) had an agreement with an Ashley Dawn Loftis - for her to 'be his girlfriend and hang out together' for an undetermined period of time, with the possibility of Loftis accompanying Sprake to his final destination in New Mexico."

The report goes on to state that Sprake "provided a lot of cash to Loftis" and that they visited several Oklahoma casinos.

The report also details that Sprake was introduced to Suter and Sanchez by Loftis, as friends.

On the morning of March 22nd, Loftis left Sprake and had Suter and Sanchez pick her up at the Super 8 Motel, where she and Sprake had been staying and return her to Oklahoma City.

Sprake, along with Suter and Sanchez, allegedly plotted to return to the Norman area. There Loftis would contact Sprake and tell him she had decided to go with him to New Mexico and could she come over.

Sprake agreed, and at about 8:00 a.m. Loftis returned to Sprake's room with Suter and Sanchez in tow.

When Sprake opened the door the trio walked in.

According to police, once inside the room, "Loftis advises Sprake that he 'owes her' and demands the keys to his vehicle as well as cash." At that point, Sanchez allegedly produces a handgun.

Sprake gives up his cash, car keys, cell phone and a briefcase. To delay Sprake from calling the police, one of the robbers removes the hotel room phone handset and placed it into the briefcase as they left.

The next day Loftis and Sanchez are arrested.

On April 18th all three were charged with felony crimes.

Loftis was charged with felony conspiracy to commit a robbery with a firearm, robbery with a firearm and larceny of a vehicle. Bond has been set at $25,000.

Sanchez was charged with felony conspiracy to commit a robbery with a firearm, robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm. Bond has been set at $25,000.

Suter was charged with felony conspiracy to commit a robbery with a firearm and robbery with a firearm. Bond has been set at $50,000.

OKC Police Officer Accused of Flashing More than His Badge

4/20/07 -- OKC, OK - The Daily Oklahoman reported today that an Oklahoma City police officer is being investigated for allegedly sending a picture of his penis to a female officer's cell phone (no mention if he had to use a zoom lens).

According to the Oklahoman, an unnamed officer has been placed on PAID administrative leave after a female officer complained about receiving an unsolicited picture of the man's penis.

Police Captain Steve McCool refused to release the officer's name, age, or length of........ service (gotcha).

The female officer said she received the lewd photo on April 5th at 10:15 a.m. The victim then forwarded the picture to a witness and stated she wanted the officer prosecuted (for assault with a friendly weapon most likely).

McCool did reveal that they do not believe this is an isolated incident and are investigating other similar complaints against this same officer.

"Upon completion of that investigation, we will of course present the case to the district attorney to see if charges will be filed in this matter,” McCool said.

This brings up an interesting question. Will newly elected Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater dare file charges against an OCPD officer and risk retaliation from the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) come re-election time?

Remember, it was the FOP that refused to endorse former D.A. Wes Lane because he filed a single criminal complaint against a police officer for an alleged assault caught on security camera at the county jail. This, even though D.A. Lane pointed out to the FOP that he had only filed charges against one police officer, yet his office had received criminal complaints against as many as 60 officers.

One of the more notable quotes from D.A. Lanes ill-fought re-election campaign was when he addressed the FOP and stated, "What kind of crack would I have to be smoking to file a case on an Oklahoma City police officer at a time in which I am seeking the endorsement of the FOP?"

4/20/07 -- Cleveland County, OK - Seems two men recently realized the value (or pitfall, depending on your perspective) of the unblinking security camera.

On April 3rd, Jason Michael Fernandez decided to pick up a little something at the local Jerry's Foods on Telephone Rd. in Moore. The problem? Fernandez allegedly "picked up" $833 in cash that was sitting on the counter. Who knew Jerry's Foods was giving away cash ~ Oh, wait, they're not.

According to police (and the trusty security camera videotape), Fernandez walked into the store, saw the cash sitting near the register, grabbed it, and ran home.

When Fernandez was questioned by police he allegedly admitted to the crime, stating that he took the store's hard earned cash so that he could, "pay bills."

Here's a tip Fernandez - GET A JOB!

Fernandez is now charged with felony grand larceny.

Our next security camera video star is Jason Hedrick, 29.

Seems Hedrick allegedly dropped into Dales BBQ on South Western in February for a little midnight takeout.

What Hedrick "took out" was $700 in a locked cash box.

As luck would have it, Dales BBQ has a security camera that runs 24-hours a day. A fact you would have thought Hedrick would have known, especially since Hedrick is described as a former employee.

Last week Hedrick was formerly charged with felony burglary.

4/14/07 -- Stillwater, OK - While perusing public records SideBarBlog quickly realized a handful of Oklahoma State University students have gotten themselves into a little hot water over the last two weeks.

According to court records, the following OSU students now have a date with the judge;

Gerald Andrew Lewis: Apparently this 19-year-old decided it would be a good idea to smoke some weed on the 6th floor of Wentz Hall on the OSU campus. Lewis was arrested with a cigar filled with marijuana that weighed in at 1.1 grams - Dude!
Jessie Elaine Turner: This 20-year-old just couldn't wait four more months until she was legal to go bar hoping. According to police, Turner had recently purchased a fake ID in Kansas for $20 and just couldn't wait to use it. Too bad the fake ID didn't come with a guarantee. Worse yet, Turner (obviously not majoring in rocket science) had all of her real information printed on the ID (okay, except the birth year). Apparently the doorman at J.R. Murphy's Tavern is not your average meat head, as he recognized the ID to be a fake immediately. Seized ID in hand, the doorman contacted police... and.... well, it's pretty obvious what happened from there. Turner is now charged with possession of a false ID.
Brian Jeffrey Stone: This 22-year-old was apparently at a party when Lee Cobb, a fellow OSU student, refused to leave. That is reportedly when Stone "stroked him once" (translation: Hit Cobb once in the face so hard he fell off the porch unconscious for several minutes). And what provoked Stone to strike Cobb? Seems Cobb was "acting a fool," teasing Stone about being a "hillbilly" and a "redneck." In case you are wondering, Stone is described at 6' and 250 pounds. Stone is now charged with assault and battery.
William Dexter "Dex" Weir: This 23-year-old allegedly went into Brown's Bottle Shop and purchased alcohol for his underage roommate, Jeremy McCan, 20. Unfortunately, the transaction was witnessed by a plain clothed police officer. Weir is now charge with providing alcohol to a minor.

Sarah Ellen Tinsley: 25-years-old and listed as a groundskeeper at OSU, allegedly wrote a hot $17 check at the Golden Dragon Cafe.
Timothy Ryan Hock: This 18-year-old was apparently having pretty good time in his blue Ford Mustang. So good in fact it caught the attention of OSU police officer Queen. Seems officer Queen noticed the brake lights on Ryan's Mustang kept going off and on... off and on... off and on (you get the picture). When officer Queen went to investigate he found the car's driver's seat contained two individuals, Ryan and a female identified only as Durant (one of which kept accidentally pushing the brake pedal). Officer Queen conducted a breathalyzer test on Ryan. Naturally, Ryan wouldn't have made this blog if the test went in his favor (scored a .12). Ryan has now been charged with actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
John William Fuchs: As if growing up with that last name wasn't unlucky enough, this 23-year-old OSU student was charged with actual physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
Jacklyn E. Dibernardo: This 20-year-old was charged with driving with a revoked license.
Scott Anthony Flanery: This 24-year-old was charged this week with stalking another OSU student.
Greg Kendall Gotcher: Another 20-year-old that just couldn't wait to get into a bar. Charged with possessing a false ID card on April 10.
Eric C. Norrington: This 21-year-old was busted with marijuana and a smoking pipe.
Trevor John Lye: This 19-year-old delinquent allegedly kicked and damaged three separate cars (all belonging to women). He has been charged with three counts of malicious injury to property.
Ryan Matthew Green: On March 6th, Green, 21, allegedly ran into a parked vehicle owned by another OSU student and then fled the scene.
April Elizabeth Helms: Helms, 22, described as 5'4" and 114lbs., allegedly threw a beer bottle at a man (Glenn Brown). Lucky for Brown she missed. Unfortunately for Olivia Withington, another OSU student, the bottle hit her square in the face. Also in the line of fire was Anna Rogers, as she was reportedly cut by flying glass. Helms is now charged with two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Barrett Andrew Boone: This 19-year-old is accused of DUI on April 6th.
Zachary Mathew Cain: This 21-year-old is accused of DUI on April 6th.
Matthew Duane Swezey: On Friday the 13th, 20-year-old Swezey allegedly was drunk and caused "malicious injury to property."

Perkins High School Student Pilfers Teacher's Purse

4/14/07 -- Perkins, OK - A high school student leaves class with more than homework. Police allege he pilfered a teachers purse of a credit card and wasted no time using it.

According to court papers, Henry Arthur Smith, 18, attends Perkins-Tryon High School in Perkins, Oklahoma.

On March 16, Penelope Palmer left her classroom to speak to another teacher. About forty five minutes later she returned to find items missing from her purse that she had left in a drawer.

Among the items missing from Palmer's purse were her driver's license, social security card and credit card.

Within hours of the theft, police allege that Smith walked into a Wal-Mart in Stillwater and made a purchase for $31.93 on Palmer's credit card.

Smith, not the brightest petty thief in Perkins, was caught on security camera during his trip to Wal-Mart.

When police reviewed the tape they quickly identified Smith as their sticky fingered suspect.

Reportedly, when Smith was interviewed by police he confessed to the crime and said he purchased a phone card at the Wal-Mart.

Earlier this month Smith was charged with the felony crime of taking a credit card.

Smith was arrested and then released on $5,000 bond.

Enid Man Charged with Making Bomb Threats

4/13/07 -- Enid, OK - Seems an Enid man has developed quite a habit of calling schools and making false bomb threats.

James Charles Jacks, 20, allegedly made at least four bomb threats in recent months.

According to police, on February 16th, March 27th, March 29th, and April 3rd phone calls were placed to the Enid Police Department. Each time the caller claimed a bomb had been placed at either Longfellow Jr. high, Lincoln Alternative School, or Garfield Elementary.

Each time the schools were cleared and searched by police. All four calls were hoaxes.

During police interviews of possible suspects/witnesses, Jacks' name was mentioned.

Police note that Jacks initially denied making the calls, but later confessed.

Jacks has been charged with four separate felony cases of making a telephone bomb threat.

Man Impersonates Cop on OU Campus

4/13/07 -- Norman, OK - A Norman man is accused of playing cop on the OU campus. If convicted, he may be playing a convict.

According to police, back in January, James Daniel Garrett, 28, was "patrolling" the University of Oklahoma campus. The problem? Garrett may have the police starter kit ('92 Ford Crown Vic. and a flashlight) but he ain't no cop.

Garrett allegedly approached two girls sitting in their car in the OU parking lot and identified himself as a police officer.

The women were unimpressed and demanded Garrett show them identification proving he was a police officer.

Garrett allegedly quickly blurted out a (paraphrasing) "Ummm, uhhhh, I'm gonna just let you fine looking ladies off with a warning."

Yesterday, Garrett was charged in Cleveland County with impersonating a police officer.

In case you're wanting to know, Garrett reportedly lives at 200 S. Vicksburg in Norman.

"I'll Be Back!" Lands Noble Man in Jail

4/13/07 -- Lexington, OK - This past Wednesday, a Noble man's to-do list included; telling off a police officer, threatening to round up his homies and kill a cop, all while driving his SUV through the front of the police station.

According to police, Jimmy Joshua Davis, 21, was a wee bit upset that the police would not return his driver's license and insurance form. It seems those items had been placed into evidence after Davis allegedly fled police during a traffic stop.

Lexington police officer, Scott Thrash, tried in vain to explain the situation to Davis.

In response, Davis allegedly spouted that he was "going to gather up his people and come back down [to the police station] and take care of it!"

I guess by "gather up his people" he meant grandma, because a few hours later she called police and told them Davis had been ranting and threatening to drive his Ford Explorer through the front of the police station and kill officer Thrash.

In response, Officer Thrash gathered up his peeps (two Purcell officers and one OHP officer) and promptly placed Davis under arrest at the local Gas-N-Go.

Davis has now been charged with two misdemeanor counts of threatening a violent act.

Woman Caught with Her hand in the Cookie Jar (make that an ATM machine)

4/13/07 -- Norman, OK - A Norman woman is caught by police with her hand inside an ATM machine.

According to court records, Veronica Louise Cook, 25, decided to make a withdrawal from the ATM machine at 1201 East Lindsay. The problem? Cook didn't have an ATM card of her own.

Actually, not a problem. It seems no matter what obstacle life throws at a woman, she has something in her purse that will overcome it. In this case it was a set of tweezers.

When police responded to a call that someone was breaking into the machine, they found Cook with "her right arm inside the machine."

Cook told police the machine "ate" her debit card.

Cook then produced three additional ATM cards she claimed she had retrieved from the machine.

Police claim Cook was using a pair of tweezers to commit the ATM heist.

Cook was booked into the Cleveland County jail and has been charged with felony burglary and credit card violations.

What Some People Will Do to Get a George Foreman Grill

Norman, OK - Kid scams Chase Bank credit card customers and buys himself a George Foreman Grill. Hey, don't knock it, it's "one lean mean fat grilling machine!" And apparently worth going to jail over.

According to court records, John Charles White, 22, used to work for Client Logic in Norman. White was supposed to be providing customer service for one of Client Logic's customers, Chase Bank.

Allegedly, from August to November of last year, White was crediting himself with other Chase Bank credit card holder's Reward Points - to the tune of $832.90.

White apparently had the George Foreman Grill and at least five $100 Best Buy gift cards mailed to his residence at 3001 Pheasant Run in Norman.

White reportedly told authorities he "didn't see any harm in using the points."

This past Monday, White was charged in Cleveland County with felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Bond has been set at $5,000.

Parents Charged When Step-Brother Forces Sister to Pose Nude

Noble, OK - Next on Jerry Springer "Brothers who take nude photos of their younger sister and the parents who do nothing to stop it."

A Noble step-mother and father are charged when they allegedly fail to take action after learning their son is forcing their pre-teen daughter to pose nude for photographs.

According to court records, police were called to the Noble Middle School after a 12-year old girl claimed her 16-year-old step-brother had been showing her pornography and forcing her to pose naked for photographs.

According to police, the victim stated that "for several months her step-brother was intimidating her into taking nude photos of herself with his cell phone."

The victim also told police that her father and step-mother found out about the photos and other pornography and told her not to tell anybody "about the situation."

The victim allegedly went on to state that her father and stepmother told her to "stop blaming the step-brother, that she (the victim) was the one to blame."

Last week charges were filed in Cleveland County against both the victim's father and step-mother.

Moore Woman Charged with Stealing From Tax Payers

Moore, OK - A woman is in big trouble after she allegedly falsified documents to obtain benefits from the Department of Human Services.

Nothing should frustrate good honest working citizens more than when others, too lazy to work, try to take advantage of the system and defraud tax payers.

Meet Cindy Ann Gleason, 27, of Moore.

Gleason is accused of willfully defrauding the state when she filed for and was granted assistance based on false statements made by her.

The state claims that Gleason claimed she was a single mother with a limited income in need of medical and food assistance.

The state claims they provided Gleason with almost $3,000 in medical assistance and over $5,000 in food stamps.

The state asserts in court papers that at the time Gleason was receiving benefits provided by tax payers, the father of her child was residing with her and was gainfully employed and able to provide financially for the family.

Felony charges were filed last week for obtaining food stamps by false representation and obtaining public assistance by false representation.

A warrant has been issued for Gleason's arrest. No bond amount has been assigned.

Noble Man Bites off Another's Nose!

Norman, OK - A Noble man allegedly bites off the nose of another man during a drunken brawl.

According to court records, at about 1:30am on March 17, a man stumbled into the Norman Regional Hospital sans nose (for you Okies to the South that means without his nose).

According to the victim, Raymond Mann, the injury was caused by an Indian male named Sean Anthony McGirt, 38.

Mann told authorities that McGirt was at his home on West Frank in Norman when they got into an argument in the backyard.

The argument quickly became physical and Mann said he tried to retreat back inside his home. Mann claimed that McGirt followed him inside his home, knocked him to the ground and bite "off a large portion of [his] nose" and then spat it onto the ground.

A search was immediately launched for said nose, but it went undiscovered for several days and thus was unable to be re-attached.

McGirt, who is listed as living in the 100 block of South 5th street in Noble, was charged with felony maiming last Tuesday in Cleveland County.

Yukon Man Vandalizes Cop Car on Way to Jail

Yukon, OK - Some people just don't know how to keep from digging themselves a deeper hole.

Meet Darren Lee Wells, 21, a Yukon resident who knows the working end of said shovel.

According to court records, Wells is well known to police and the criminal justice system.

According to police, on Wells's latest trip to the county jail he decided to leave his mark on the officer's patrol car.

On August 26, 2006 Yukon police officer Zach Roberson was transporting citizen of the year Wells when Wells apparently cut the upholstery with a knife he had on his person. No mention as to why the knife had not been discovered and confiscated from Wells prior to placing him in the police car.

On April 2 Wells was charged with malicious injury to property.

Police list the damage at less than $2,500.

Victim of Identity Theft Receives $7K Bill from IRS

Enid, OK - A woman living in California received a letter from the IRS demanding she make good on over $7,000 in income taxes from a job in Oklahoma - the problem - the woman never worked in Oklahoma. Worse yet, it appears her entire identity was stolen by an illegal immigrant living in Enid.

According to court records, Irene Hilburn-Garcia, received a letter in January at her California residence from the IRS. The letter claimed she owed $7,387 in unpaid income tax from 2005.

The IRS claimed their records showed that in 2005 she was working in Enid, Oklahoma at Advance Foods.

Suspecting her identity was being falsely used, Garcia contacted the Enid police department and forwarded the letter from the IRS.

Enid police contacted Advance Foods who confirmed they did indeed employ a "Irene Garcia" using the same social security number and date of birth as the woman in California.

Enid police were then contacted by a local attorney who stated he was representing a Graciela Solis and that his client wanted to "come clean." (now that she's been busted)

Solis, 28, told police she had purchased a California driver's license and social security card, containing Garcia's personal information, at a flea market in Oklahoma City.

Solis did not turn the illegal documents over to police, claiming she destroyed them.

On March 29, Solis was charged with felony identity theft in Garfield County.

Bond was set at only $500.

It will be interesting to see if Solis actually sticks around, after "coming clean," to face the music or if she scurries back across the border only to resurface one day with a newly and illegally acquired identity.

OKC Firefighter Arrested Again - Is He Getting Special Treatment?

OKC, OK - A Oklahoma City firefighter, already in trouble with the law, is arrested overnight. SidebarBlog questions whether he is receiving preferential treatment.

Back in May of 2006, Oklahoma City Firefighter James Kenneth Frazer, 45, was arrested and charged with three drug related felonies (trafficking illegal drugs, distribution of CDS, and possession of a weapon while committing a felony).

Frazer posted a $30,000 bond on May 10th and was released awaiting trial.

Only two months later (7/16/06) Frazer was involved in a high speed chase after police attempted to question him and another man about a reported theft.

Frazer and the other man, Leshone Farmer, 29, fled in a truck with police chasing after them.

The chase ended near a wooded area several miles later. (read an account by the Daily Oklahoman)

Frazer was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of receiving or concealing stolen property.

While embarrassing to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, it pales in comparison to the favortism shown by then Oklahoma County District Attorney Wes Lane and the courts when Frazer was given a 'get out of jail free card' and allowed to post a Own Recognizance bond.

This, even though he was already out on bond for a drug trafficking felony involving a weapon and then led police on a high speed chase in a truck containing stolen property.

To add insult to injury, as of this date, Frazer has yet to be charged for the police chase or stolen property he was found in possession of.

Since Frazer's release he has been seen many times by this blog's author and others to be buying drugs and even apparently prostituting a woman, Kemala Brown, on South Robinson Ave.

In December, a warrant was issued for Frazer's arrest for violating the conditions of his O.R. bond.

Last night Frazer was arrested on that warrant and the additional charge of "failure to comply."

Also arrested last night was the prostitute Frazer has been seen in the company of (Kemala Brown) who has an extensive prison record.

OU Student Charged with Stealing from University

Norman, OK - A student at the University of Oklahoma has been charged with stealing an expensive piece of video equipment from the university.

According to court records, on February 10, Kevin Troung Ha, 30, walked into the Oklahoma Memorial Union and walked out with a "data projector and case" valued at $950.

Allegedly, Ha was seen on a security camera walking into the building and then exiting the same building with the video projector.

Police utilized a confidential informant to positively identify Ha as the person on the tape.

Two days later police attempted to contact Ha via telephone, but could not reach him.

On February 14, the projector was left outside the 2nd floor entrance to the Union building.

Police again tried to contact Ha and left him a voice message that they still needed to talk to him even though the projector had been returned. Minutes later an attorney called police and told them Ha would not speak to them without his attorney present.

Yesterday (4/3), a single felony charge for grand larceny was filed in Cleveland County against Ha.

A warrant has also been issued for Ha's arrest.

Ha is listed as a senior at the University of Oklahoma in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Ha's home address is listed in the 900 block of NW 28th street.

Edmond Man Charged with Animal Cruelty

Logan County, OK - A man is criminally charged after allegedly viciously beating a dog in Logan County.

According to court records, last Friday (3/30), Timothy Martin Saathoff, 45, beat and kicked a small Husky dog "breaking the dog's pelvis and causing internal injuries."

Saathoff was charged yesterday in Logan County with the felony crime of cruelty to animals after a felony conviction.

Saathoff's former convictions include; False declaration of ownership to a pawn broker, DUI and assault and battery of a police officer.

Saathoff was released from jail, awaiting trial, on a $7,500 bond.

Saathoff reportedly lives in the 2900 block of East Noble in Edmond.

Spencer, OK - As a sort of public service to all the ladies out there, SidebarBlog would like to put our female readers on notice. That is unless you happen to seek out the stalker type when looking for a mate.

According to court records, Dennis Dean Ross, 42, may just be a wee bit needy.

Seems a little over a month ago, on two occasions, Ross had dinner dates with a Tammy L. of Norman.

Tammy told police that her relationship with Ross was purely platonic and that two dates was plenty enough to realize things were not going to work out because of Ross's "behavior" - seems Ross didn't get the same vibe.

On March 5, Tammy called 9-1-1 after she awoke to a loud noise and found Ross standing in her living room. Police reports indicate Ross may have kicked Tammy's door in to gain entry.

Ross was promptly charged with the misdemeanor crime of entering a building with unlawful intent.

Last Saturday (3/24), police were again called to Tammy's residence.

According to the responding officer, he listened to approximately 30 voice mail messages left by Ross on Tammy's answering machine.

The officer made the following notations; "While listening to the messages (Tammy) became visibly upset and began crying at one point. She said she has had to quit her job and is moving out of state due to this." The officer also noted that Ross made several threats against Tammy in his recorded messages.

Yesterday (3/29/), the Cleveland County district attorney's office filed a misdemeanor charge of stalking against Ross.

A warrant has been issued for Ross's arrest and bond has been denied until arraignment.

Dad Sends Son 'Godfather' Like Warning

Glencoe, OK - Who doesn't remember this scene from The Godfather... A movie studio bigwig refuses to cast the godson of Corleone in a new movie. The refusal is taken as a sign of disrespect. One morning the studio bigwig wakes up and finds the severed head of his prized race horse lying in bed next to him!

Well, it seems a Glencoe man favors himself a sorta godfather - though be it a low budget one.

According to court records, Brian Keith Hogan, 49, felt a bit disrespected by his son Jason and decided to send him a message, a la Godfather.

On March 7, Jason (living in Stillwater) received a letter from dear old dad.

The letter though wasn't one of those mushy poetic Hallmark moments punctuated with "Son, you're the greatest!" and a little cash donation to help a kid out.

Nope, this card was captioned "You've disrespected me for the last time, SON!" To make sure he had set the proper tone, dad also placed inside the card a severed wing from a bird. The wing had also been covered with a white powder.

According to police, when Jason "smelled the white powder ... his nose began burning." (Note to readers: when you receive a threatening letter in the mail coated with a powdery substance, DO NOT INHALE IT!)

Police were called and when they tested the white powder it "triggered a hazardous materials response from the Stillwater police department, Stillwater fire department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service."

A Payne County sheriff's deputy located Mr. Hogan in (I bet you never saw this coming) a bar.

Reportedly, Hogan admitted to sending his son the letter.

On March 14, the Payne County district attorney filed a single felony count of sending a threatening letter charge against Hogan.

Hogan was released from jail on a recognizance bond (aka, get out of jail free card), awaiting his April 9, court date.

The next day Hogan was arrested again, at the aforementioned bar, by a state trooper for public drunkenness.

According to the trooper, while being transported to jail, Hogan commented on his recent dealings with police and that he wanted to move to another country "where you can drink and not get arrested."

Man Holds Trailer Hostage to Repay Debt

Enid, OK - Man allegedly stole another's custom trailer and held it hostage in an attempt to resolve an outstanding debt; Debtor turns the tables.

According to court records, an Enid resident, identified only as 'Darin,' owed Kremlin resident, John J. Purdue, 36, $1,200.

Purdue decided to take matters into his own hands when he removed a custom made smoker built on a customized dual axle trailer belonging to Darin.

Darin returned home February 5, to find the trailer gone. A neighbor allegedly gave Darin the description of a truck seen hauling the trailer away.

Darin immediately recognized the description as that of a truck belonging to Purdue.

According to police, Darin placed a call to Purdue to confront him about the missing trailer. The telephone conversation was recorded by police.

Purdue denied taking the trailer but said "if Darin brought him his money then he might be able to find it."

The two agreed to meet at Larry's Midway later that evening. Purdue warned Darin, "if 'them damn cops' were there then he would say he didn't know where the trailer was."

Police provided Darin with a digital recorder and instructed him to call them on his cell phone and leave the line open.

At the meeting, Darin gave Purdue a check for the money owed. Purdue asked when Darin's bank opened in the morning and said as soon as he had his cash Darin could get his trailer.

Purdue then told Darin his trailer would be in safe keeping until the debt was repaid.

The next day Purdue cashed the check and allegedly dropped off Darin's trailer.

But, just when Purdue thought he'd gotten the last laugh, the Garfield County district attorney filed felony concealing stolen property charges against him.

A warrant for Purdue's arrest was issued this past Monday.

Man On House Arrest Checks Teen Out of School for Sex

Noble, OK - A man in Noble on house arrest for a burglary charge checks a teen out of school for sex; He now faces additional criminal charges.

According to court records, Shawn Michael Heaton, 18, first got into trouble with the law last October when he was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home in Lexington while the residence were home.

Heaton was charged with felony burglary in the first degree. Unable to post bond, Heaton was eventually released on house arrest after agreeing to wear an ankle bracelet with GPS capability to ensure he stayed put.

Heaton, undeterred by the restrictions placed on him by the courts, decided to arrange a rendezvous with an underage girl.

According to police, on March 14, Heaton placed a telephone call to the Noble High School pretending to be the father of a 15-year-old female student. Heaton reportedly authorized the girl to be checked out of school early.

Heaton then met up with the girl outside the school and took her and another juvenile girl to the OU Motel in Norman.

Police were tipped off to Heaton's shenanigans and located him and the teen girls in the hotel room.

One of the girls admitted to having a sexual relationship with Heaton since September.

Just today, newly elected Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn filed felony charges of rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor against Heaton.

UPDATE: When KFOR News Channel 4 went to the residential address Heaton listed (the one where he was supposed to be on house arrest), it seems the home wasn't there - Literally!

According to neighbors, Heaton's trailer house had been repossessed within the last few days.

Senior Citizens Know How to Party in Cushing

Cushing, OK - A senior citizen in Cushing is arrested on multiple drug crimes. Believe it or not, it is not his first run-in with the law.

According to court records, Kenneth Thompson, 81, is facing felony charges for 1) possession of cocaine, 2) possession of marijuana, 3) possession of drug paraphernalia and 4) unlawful use of a police scanner.

And you thought those seniors were just passing time sitting on those park benches - Hell no, they're dealing drugs!

Seems Thompson's stash was uncovered during the execution of a search warrant at his home. Now, wouldn't that make for an interesting, "anything exciting happen at grandpa's this weekend?" story.

To make matters worse for Thompson, all of these charges are enhanced by the fact he is already a convicted felon.

According to the prosecution, Thompson was convicted in 1995 of the felony crime of "unlawful delivery of a CDS" and in 2001 for possession of marijuana.

Charges were filed against Thompson on March 20.

Thompson remains in jail, unable to make bond.

UPDATE: According to media reports, Thompson is a retired school teacher and was well respected in his community.

OSU Student Charged with Possession of Child Porn

Stillwater, OK - A OSU student is charged with felony possession of child pornography.

According to court records, Brock Anthony Thurman, 23, was charged March 14 with a single felony criminal charge.

While no additional information was readily available at the time of this entry, online records indicate that Thurman is currently a student at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

According to the Marietta Monitor (6/02), "Thurman, a 2002 graduate of Marietta High School, had accepted an Oklahoma State University 2002 Valedictorian Scholarship."

The Monitor went on to state, "Thurman is the son of Dennis and Marilyn Thurman of Marietta, and he plans to major in geology and chemistry. He is an OSU Boone Pickens Scholar and has received a John T. Liebrand Memorial Scholarship. Thurman is a member of the National Honor Society, is an All-American Scholar, and is listed in 'Who's Who Among American High School Students.'"

Thurman was released on a $7,500 bond.

Thurman's next scheduled court appearance is set for April 9.

UPDATE: According to media reports, Thurman's computer has been turned over to the FBI and may result in federal charges against him.

Video Vigilante Aids in Fugitive's Arrest

3/21/07 -- OKC, OK - Local video activist aids in arrest of a wanted fugitive with a felony record this afternoon and it is all caught on camera.

At about 3:20p.m. Brian Bates, aka the Video Vigilante and founder of JohnTV.com, witnessed a man on South Robinson Ave. that he knew to have outstanding warrants. Bates, along with another man, called the Oklahoma City Marshals office to report the fugitive's location.

The man, Alphonzo Fields, 42, a convicted felon, has long been rumored to buy and sell drugs in the Capitol Hill area.

Bates says that on at least two occasions Fields has threatened Bates's life.

Bates followed Fields until a City Marshal was able to pull him over and place Fields under arrest.

Fields was booked into the Oklahoma County jail for outstanding warrants on assault and battery, traffic tickets and failure to appear.

Fields's criminal history includes;
1998 conviction for public drunk.
2002 failure to appear (open case with warrant).
2002 disregarding a traffic signal (open case with warrant).
1996 charged with assault.
1996 conviction for destroying property.
2002 conviction for DUI, speeding, and misc. traffic violations.
2002 conviction for DUI and misc. traffic violations.
1999 conviction for domestic abuse.
1997 conviction for robbery in the 1st degree after felony conviction.

Six OSU Students Charged with Hazing

Stillwater, OK - Six members of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity at Oklahoma State University have been formerly charged with criminal hazing.

According to police, the 6 members of the APA fraternity repeatedly hazed at least one OSU student and pledge from january 23 until February 11 of this year.

Prosecutors allege numerous pledges were victimized by the fraternity members but they are only naming one victim, Randall Matthew Nash, because he was allegedly the most physically harmed by the member's actions.

According to court records, the 6 APA members "intentionally endangered [the victims] physical and/or mental health...by forceful beating...with a paddle" and other activities "which subjected victim to extreme mental stress."

According to media reports, the victim's beatings were so severe they will require plastic surgery to correct.

OSU has reportedly taken action against the fraternity.

If convicted the three face fines up to $500 and/or 90-days in jail.

Man Charged with Assault After Manhandling Teen Girl

Cushing, OK - A man is charged with assault after grabbing and allegedly making sexual advances towards a young female.

According to court records, Michael Sanchez Sr., 49, of Sugarland, Texas, was at a residence in Cushing when the alleged crime occurred.

On March 10, prosecutors claim Sanchez asked a 13-year-old girl, staying the night at the residence with a friend, to show him her finger nails. When the girl complied, Sanchez grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into his lap.

The victim told police that Sanchez then asked the girls age and told her, "you have a nice big ass for your age, and your age does not matter."

The victim ran from Sanchez and her 13-year-old friend what had happened.

An adult in the home told Sanchez to leave. The same adult reportedly told police that Sanchez had asked him at least 6 times if he (Sanchez) could have sex with the teen.

Sanchez left the residence and was later arrested for public intoxication while walking northbound in the southbound lane of traffic.

Last week in Payne County, a single misdemeanor charge of assault and battery was filed against Sanchez. Additionally, on the same day, Sanchez was also charged with public drunk.

Enid, OK - Who doesn't love a hot and fresh pizza for only $5 from Little Caesar's Pizza? Well, apparently don't order it with extra cheese if you're passing through Enid.

According to police, Jesse Lee Kelsey, 18, was working at the Little Caesar's Pizza parlor on West Garriott in Enid when things got a little out of hand.

Reportedly, Derrick McMullen (assistant manager) asked Kelsey to make four batches of cheese. Well, Kelsey apparently wasn't going to take it anymore and replied, "Fuck You! Fuck You! Fuck You! Fuck You!"

McMullen said he told Kelsey to turn-in his shirt and hat and leave (how degrading is that folks).

Kelsey responded by throwing the prep rack to the floor and turning to McMullen and stating, "I'm gonna smoke you!"

McMullen, fearing Kelsey might make good on his threat, called police.

Yesterday, a single misdemeanor charge of "threatening to perform an act of violence" was filed in Garfield County against Kelsey.

No word yet if Kelsey is getting a positive recommendation from Little Caesar's.

Monster Truck Sibling Madness!

Enid, OK - A threesome heading home from an evening of Monster Trucks finds their vehicles have been vandalized by one of the groups siblings.

According to court papers, on the evening of February 17, Crystal Alcorn, James Goldman and Jamie Lawson were heading to the parking lot of the Chisholm Trail Expo Center when they came upon something that oddly enough is probably not that unusual in Enid - A woman wearing a "black jacket, with pink sleeves and the words 'Pink Ladies' " standing next to their vehicles.

When the "Pink Lady" turned around she was immediately recognized as Carrie Alcorn, 31, sister of Crystal Alcorn.

It seems the typical Okie "Howdie ya'll!" was not on Carrie's mind. The threesome advised police that Carrie promptly produced an egg and tossed it at one of their cars as she fled the area (no mention if she was whisked away by one of the T-Birds).

Upon closer examination, Crystal realized her car was coated with eggs, a large dent in the roof and various colorful words scribbled onto the car in appropriately enough, pink shoe polish ~ "Horr" (pronounced "whore"), "Bitch" and "Cunt."

When James went to check on his vehicle (did we mention James used to be married to said Pink Lady Carrie and was out with her sister Crystal on the evening in question) his vehicle too was vandalized. In addition to the new eggciting paint job, James's 1994 Ford Explorer also touted a 2' key mark and the words "Gotcha Bitch."

Yesterday, Carrie Alcorn was charged with two misdemeanor counts of malicious injury to property.

Warrant Issued for Moore Storage Bandit

Moore, OK - A recent string of storage unit thefts in Moore may be one step closer to being solved with the issuing of a recent arrest warrant.

According to court papers, Jason Randal McLean, 31, is now wanted on three felony counts of burglary in the second degree.

Seems the U Store All storage facility on North I-35 in Moore recently experienced three burglaries of individuals storage units.

It also seems that about the same time, McLean rented a storage unit at the same location in January of this year.

According to police, McClean is seen on security videos, with a yet to be identified accomplice, entering the storage facility and removing property from units not belonging to him.

Charges were filed against McLean and an arrest warrant issued yesterday.

OU Students Charged with Felony Drug Crimes

Norman, OK - At least two University of Oklahoma students charged with felony possession of drugs near a neighborhood park.

Seems on February 4, members of the Norman Police Department went to an apartment at 3700 SE 12th Ave. to serve a warrant for one Ashley Ferrel Stokes, 21.

When police arrived they were greeted by Justin Kyle McChristian, 23.

Seems McChristian didn't bother to tidy-up the community pot stash sitting on what is described in the affidavit as, "a blue tray with marijuana on the end table next to the front door in plain view."

Once inside the apartment police were introduced to Joshua "Josh" Bryan Sylvester, 21.

Allison Lindsay Snow, 21, and Ashley Stokes arrived home just in time to find police rummaging through their underwear drawers.

Upon completion of their search, police listed the following contraband;

1.1 oz. of marijuana.
Five glass bongs (Dude!).
A wooden marijuana grinder.
Assorted small zip baggies with white residue.
Assorted drug paraphernalia.

Joshua "Josh" Bryan Sylvester is listed as a freshman at OU and Allison Lindsay Snow is listed as a senior in the college of journalism and mass communications.

All four are facing felony drug and paraphernalia charges for possession within 1,000' of a public park.

OU Student Charged for Tossing Phone at UT Game

Norman, OK - It seems the Sooner men's basketball team were not the only losers at the February 24, ass-whopping by the University of Texas (68-58). Meet Robert Edward Petty, 22, and student at OU.

It would appear that Petty tried his best impression of "Can you hear me now?" when he tossed his cell phone onto the court of the Lloyd Noble Center in protest of said ass-whopping.

It also seems the thousands in attendance did not hesitate to identify Petty as the cell phone bandit to police.

This past Wednesday Petty was charged in Cleveland County with the misdemeanor crime of "projecting an object at a public event." An arrest warrant was issued the same day.

Another OU Student Charged with Embezzlement

Norman, OK - Another University of Oklahoma student is charged with embezzling money from a local merchant.

According to court records, Saul Omar Martinez, 21, was charged with felony embezzlement this past Monday.

Court records detail that Martinez was working in the Starbucks coffee shop located in a Norman Target store when the crime was committed.

Reportedly, Martinez would activate gift cards he had not purchased and then redeem them at a later time.

Martinez reportedly confessed to Target loss prevention staff.

The total amount embezzled is listed at $550.

Martinez is listed as a junior at OU in the college of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Idiot Calls 911 to Put Threat 'On the Record'

Moore, OK - Okay, who hasn't had someone threaten to kick their ass from time to time. But, have you ever heard of someone stupid enough to call 9-1-1 to put their own threat on record? Well, you have now.

Meet Kenneth Wayne Suggs IV, 45, from Moore, Oklahoma.

According to court records, Suggs was visiting an acquaintance when he threatened to "burn down his house, and that he intended to 'put a bullet in [his] head.'" As if Suggs's intentions were not clear enough, the police report goes on to state that Suggs, not wanting to be misunderstood, told the victim, you're a "dead motherfucker!"

The victim called police and they promptly interviewed Suggs. This is the part on COPS where the guy in the sleeveless t-shirt and boxer shorts proclaims his innocence and that the other dude is lying - case closed.

Well, not so fast. Suggs isn't your typical Einstein, and allegedly tells police that he did indeed make the statements but that all he really intended to do was "kick his ass."

The police noted that they advised Suggs against the aforementioned ass-kicking. Suggs reportedly admitted it was ill-advised but planned to do it anyway.

Again, not wanting to be misunderstood, Suggs later called 9-1-1 and stated he wanted it "on record" that he planned to kick the victim's ass.

I know, I know, you never saw this coming - Last week Suggs was charged in Cleveland County with "threatening a violent act."

Tale of Two Stalkers...

Alleged Stalker 1:
Moore, OK - Ex-wife of man convicted of arson, now charged with stalking, fears for her safety after her daughter is followed from school.

In 2001, Ronald Dean Hanes, 39, was convicted of felony arson in the second degree.

Hanes's ex-wife aided in his prosecution. At the time, Hanes reportedly told his ex-wife that he would kill her if she testified against him.

Recently Hanes has allegedly been seen following his daughter (who resides with her mother) as she came and went from Moore High School.

Hanes's ex believes he is trying to make good on his threat against her life.

Last week Hanes was charged with misdemeanor stalking in Cleveland County.

Alleged Stalker 2:
Also charged on the same day as the above mentioned lunatic was Pamela Kristine Cavazos, 41.

According to court records, Cavazos, a Norman resident, approached a woman in Moore and proclaimed she would have the woman "killed" if she went to a particular Ford dealership.

Since the threat was made, Cavazos has allegedly showed up at the victims home and the elementary school her son attends.

A warrant was issued for Cavasos's arrest last week.

Antlers Police Officers Just Can't Get Any Respect

Seems local police in the tiny Oklahoma town of Antlers just can't get any of the aforementioned, and they are not taking it lying down.

According to court records, several Antler residence have recently been charged with the crime of obstructing a peace officer.

Just last Thursday the following individuals were charged in Pushmataha County;

Leah Schutts, 37, was arrested after she was pulled over for a cracked windshield and it was learned her passenger, Franklin Cole, had 5 outstanding warrants and the car contained at least two "swords." Seems Schutts was only going to receive a warning until she belted out the following while throwing her eye-glasses, "You're not fucking saying anything!"
Justin R. Cochran, 24, was charged after an Antlers officer pulled him over for a broken taillight. Justin proceeded to ignore the officer and walked into his home and called his parents.
Rocky R. Cochran (father to Justin - see above), 39, faces a single count of obstructing a police officer. This after Rocky eloquently told the police officer who had pulled his son over for a broken tail light that he, "had discussed the bullshit repair order with [police] chief Morgan."

Logan Co Commissioner Faces Jail Over Campaign Sign

Logan County, OK - You gotta love small town politics. That, or at least small town district attorneys with nothing better to do than charge a man with a crime for holding a campaign sign in the street. Better yet, a man holding HIS OWN campaign sign.

According to court records, Mark Allan Sharpton, 39, was holding a campaign sign at Waterloo and Kelly on election day (Nov. 7) 2006.

Sharpton wasn't holding just any old election sign - you see, Sharpton was holding his own election sign in his bid for re-election as the District 1 County Commissioner in Logan County.

Seems Sharpton hadn't made friends with the local Oklahoma Highway Patrol during his previous term and campaigning - or at least not officers Henry and Brake, as they cited Sharpton for his egregious act against society!

This past Thursday (3/8/07), Logan County DA Mark Gibson saw fit to charge Sharpton with the misdemeanor crime of "improper standing in roadway."

If convicted, Sharpton could face a fine up to $100 and/or 10-days in the county jail.

In case you are wondering, Sharpton (R) won his election by 67% over Bill Evans (D).

Senior Citizen Attempts Casino Heist

Norman, OK - A 70-year old man walks into a local casino and walks out with a flat screen TV and an OU blanket. The problem? He didn't win them at the craps table.

Casinos are popping up all over Oklahoma with the promise of quick cash and prizes for those with luck on their side. One Oklahoma City resident decided to forgo the whole gambling uncertainty and instead went for the sure thing.

According to police, Jerry Valdean Eaves, 70, walked into the Thunderbird Casino in Norman on February 20. Eaves apparently didn't like the odds at the blackjack table or slot machines and instead opted to help himself to a 32" flat screen television and a OU blanket.

Despite the fact that Thunderbird Casino probably has well over 100 security cameras and numerous security personnel, nobody noticed the 70-year-old Eaves lumbering out the door with his new found goodies. As a matter of fact, the items were not discovered missing for 5 days.

As luck would have it, while security was reviewing archived tapes clearly showing Mr. Eaves's handy work, staff realized Eaves was actually in the casino at that moment.

Eaves was arrested in the casino and booked into the Cleveland County jail.

Last Tuesday Eaves was formerly charged with felony grand larceny.

A quick records check shows that Eaves owns a nearly $200,000 home in Oklahoma City. You'd think he could spring for his own TV and OU memorabilia.

We here at the Sidebar Blog are convinced Eaves is simply a misunderstood OU fan who was desperate to get a lucky OU blanket and new big screen TV to what watch his sooners at the Big XII conference last week.

UPDATE: 3/15/07 - Last night KFOR News Channel 4 covered this story. While the Norman police department, nor Thunderbird Casino, would release a copy of the security tape, KFOR's own Ali Meyer was able to interview Eaves at his home.

Apparently Eaves had no idea felony charges had been filed and that a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Eaves denied stealing the TV or OU blanket (anyone notice the OU hat he was wearing in the interview). However, Eaves did state that he WOULD have stolen the items if he only could have found a door to exit the Casino without being seen! When told police claim the security video clearly shows him loading the items into his El Camino, Eaves had no comment other than to imply he was being set-up.

Tip: When you kick your wife out, change the locks!

Norman, OK - Some say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Not so for one Norman resident who reportedly kicked his wife out of their home two months ago ~ She came back and brought an ass-whipping with her.

According to police, Summer Paul Franklin, 29, was given the boot by her hubby late last year.

For reasons not disclosed in the police report, Franklin decided to return to her former residence on February 21.

When she arrived she found her husband had made a few changes to the family home ~ mainly the addition of his new girlfriend and her two children - ouch!

Franklin, none-to-impressed, proceeded to breakdown the bedroom door which was concealing the new girlfriend.

The girlfriend told police that once inside the bedroom, Franklin attacked her in front of her 6-year old and 8-month old children.

Apparently Mr. Franklin missed all of this action but did arrive home in time to see Mrs. Franklin spit in the arresting officers face and then kick him at least once (Editorial note: We're starting to see why Mr. Franklin gave her the boot).

The soon to be ex-wife has been charged with felony assault and battery of a police officer, placing bodily fluids onto a police officer and simple assault and battery.

Mom Uses Daughter to Shoplift

Moore, OK - Oh the things we impart on our children... Do unto others, sharing, and of course the art of the heist.

According to court records, Mother of the year Dedra Elece Frost, 34, of Midwest City, was arrested after a family shopping trip at a Kohl's department store left Frost her with a shiny new set of bracelets and a free ride to the Cleveland County jail.

Allegedly, Frost entered the Kohl's on South Telephone Rd. in Moore with her daughter (records only describe her as the minor daughter of Frost). Mom and daughter each began pushing a shopping cart.

The loss prevention specialist stated that both mother and daughter entered a dressing room together. Frost's cart was described as being full of merchandise while her daughter's contained only a large empty bag.

When Frost and her daughter exited the dressing room, the mother's cart only contained "tag's from merchandise" while the daughters cart now contained a large bag that appeared to be full.

Security went on to state that the daughter pushed the cart full of unpaid merchandise out of the story as Frost walked along side.

Security then detained the two and called police.

The merchandise in the cart was valued at $785.

Frost has been charged with felony larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Wes Lane - Gone, but refusing to be forgotten

Oklahoma County - Many of us thought Wes Lane would soon be out of sight and out of mind after being shown the door last November in a historic expression of (do I dare say it) no faith by voters in Oklahoma County.

We here at L&O-Okie Style only wish we could have been there as he slithered out of his county office, tail between his legs as the glow of his self appointed halo was extinguished.

Obviously Lane subscribes to the belief that there is no gratification like self-gratification ~ and his comes in the form of billboards.

Anyone who has been driving around the metro as of late has surely seen the plethora of billboards touting the solemn Lane as he peers to the heavens and seems to be thinking to himself "Why? Why? Why!!!!!"

The boards read "Thank you for the privilege of serving you as your District Attorney -- Wes Lane" followed by "Psalm 100" in the bottom corner.

We can only assume the boards were purchased with leftover campaign funds, but there is no disclosure on the signs.

To add insult to arrogance, I now hear Lane is flat refusing to take down the Web site that identifies him as the current district attorney of Oklahoma County.

Yes folks, I'm not talking about his election site (http://www.weslaneforda.com), I'm speaking of the site that since 2001 has been the "The Official Website of the Oklahoma County District Attorney" http://weslaneda.com.

First he impersonated a righteous man and now he's impersonating the district attorney!

Don't Return Those Rented DVD's and You May Go to Jail

Norman, OK - We've all heard the BlockBuster Video ads proclaiming 'No More Late Fees' - in contrast, a local video store initiates a return on time or go to jail policy.

According to court records the Norman video store, Movie Place, wants their overdue videos and they want them now!

The following 6 individuals all allegedly rented multiple videos from the Movie Place and then neglected to return them. The Movie Place isn't taking it lying down.

According to court records, Anthony James Purkey, 23, rented 5 DVD's and they are now almost two years past due.

And what did Purkey rent in March of 2005;
1. Friday After Next
2. House of 1000 Corpses
3. Blue Collar Comedy Hour Rides Again
4. Exorcist; the Beginning
5. King Arthur

Movie Place claims the videos to be worth $134.95.

On February 13, embezzlement charges were filed against Purkey.

Dymeshia Meshea Richard, 22, reportedly rented 6 DVDs in 2003 and allegedly failed to return two of them (Coyote Ugly and Hardball) valued at $44.04.

Embezzlement charges have also been filed against Richard.

Danny Wayne Mclain, 50, reportedly never returned the two videos he rented in January of 2006 (In Her Shoes & Transporter 2) valued at $56.14.

Embezzlement charges have been filed against McClain who apparently now resides in Richmond, VI.

Judy D. Landriault, 47, of Noble also allegedly failed to return her 5 movies (DNA, Grudge, Bruce Almighty, Butterfly Effect & Slash) valued at $167.15.

Landriault has also been charged with embezzlement.

James Mark McCullough, 36, is reportedly still holding on to his copies of Thomas Percy Saves the Day and Thomas Songs from the Station, valued at $32.48.

McCullough was charged with embezzlement.

Michelle Marie Snell, 26, allegedly rented two XBOX games and 5 DVDs valued at $183.74.

Snell was charged with embezzlement.

Arrest warrants have been issued for all 6 former Movie Place patrons.

In each case bail has been set at $1,000.

OU Student Charged with Attacking Female

Norman, OK - Man attacks a man and a women in their home after breaking out windows and kicking in a door.

According to court records, Michael Gaillard Craig, 29, was arrested just two days before Valentine's Day after police arrived to find him beating one woman while others hid in a bathroom.

Allegedly, Craig punched one woman in the face and when she fell he began kicking her.

The occupants of the home told police they were able to push Craig out of the residence. However, he then began breaking out windows and kicked in the front door.

One of the female victims told police they had locked themselves in the bathroom and that they feared Craig was going to kill them.

When a male in the home confronted Craig, he produced a steel pipe and threatened additional acts of physical violence.

Police witnessed part of the struggle when they arrived on scene.

Craig has been charged with assault and battery and malicious injury to property.

According to the University of Oklahoma, Craig is senior in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Trio Takes Target For Over $10K

Norman, OK - Three individuals are accused of stealing more than $10,000 from a single Target store in Norman. Two suspects appear to be students at the University of Oklahoma.

According to court records, Keisa Laine Sutton, 22, Matthew Lewis Anderson, 20, and Melisa Redwine, 23, allegedly stole $10,484.76 in cash and merchandise from December 8 to December 20 of last year from the Target on NW 24th. Ave.

Reportedly, Sutton confessed to a Target Asset Protection Team Member (now there's a title) that the trio stole approximately $3,000 in cash along with numerous articles of clothing, at least one DVD player, a camera, Ipod and DVD's.

Target reports that some unopened merchandise and unspent cash were returned after the suspects were confronted. Target estimates $7,468.40 of cash and merchandise is still outstanding.

A quick check of enrollment records at the University of Oklahoma shows a Matthew Lewis Anderson as a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences. Records also reveal a Keisa Laine Sutton as a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences.

All three reportedly live at the Reserve on Stinson apartments in Norman.

Each of the three has been charged with felony larceny from a retailer.

Man Doesn't Relish Recent Trip to Mexican Restaurant

Norman, OK - Patron of local Mexican restaurant sues after a tortilla allegedly broke his dentures.

According to court papers filed February 5, Noble resident Steven R. Williams was enjoying a night out at Tulio's Best Mexican Food in Norman on the evening of December 29, 2006.

Williams alleges that while dining on a "tortilla with relish" he suffered a broken "upper denture plate, cracked and lost a tooth."

Wow! We here at L&D Okie Style prefer our tortillas a little less lethal.

Williams goes on to state, "there was obviously something besides relish in the food that caused [the] damage." -- You think!

Williams is seeking $1,125 in damages.

Is That a Steak in Your Pocket, or are You just Happy to See Me?

Norman, OK - Man stuffs steak down pants and proceeds to pepper spray security.

According to court records, Brian Michael Dressler, 27, walked into the Homeland grocery store on January 26 and headed directly to the meat counter.

Allegedly Dressler took a $12 steak and stuffed it down the front of his pants - (note to readers; this is not the recommend method of marinating a steak).

As Dressler was leaving the store two employees attempted to detain him.

Reportedly, Dressler then "pulled out a small can of pepper spray and sprayed both [employees]."

Dressler has been charged with larceny, two counts of assault and battery and public drunk.

RDC: Drug Dealer Beats Man Over Debt

Norman, OK - This one will be filed under "Really Dumb Crooks" (RDC). Here's a tip to drug dealers that beat up customers who owe them money - don't stand on your balcony bragging, "I beat his ass!" as police are below investigating the crime.

According to court records, police were called January 27 to the Sunrise Ridge apartments on Hal Muldrow Drive in Norman at about 11:30pm in reference to a fight.

When police arrived they found a man lying on the ground "with large lacerations to his head."

Police also reportedly heard Erick Raymond Grubbs, 22, yelling "'...I beat his ass...' repeatedly as he stood on the balcony outside his residence."

Police reported that the victim had apparently gone to Grubbs' apartment "to discuss with Grubbs his inability to pay an outstanding drug debt."

Apparently Grubbs was not in a forgiving mood as witnesses reported he and two other men began beating the man.

It is alleged that Grubbs used a police style baton to hit the victim at least 15 times, causing the injuries to the victim's head.

Grubbs has been charged with felony assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Grubbs was released on a $15,000 bond.

OU Student Charged with Embezzling from Best Buy UPDATE: Guilty Plea

Norman, OK - Norman resident and student of the University of Oklahoma is charged with going on quite a shopping spree at the local Best Buy where he worked.

According to court papers, Zachary Eaton Williams-Kupec, 19, allegedly stole over $3,000 worth of merchandise from the Best Buy electronics store in Norman from December 1, 2006 to January 7, 2007.

Kupec, listed a junior in the College of Fine Arts at OU, was fired when he was reportedly caught "attempting to steal an XBOX 360."

Prior to Kupec's firing, the store had experienced a number of thefts where the retail packaging was left hidden in the store's stockroom.

According to police, when Kupec was interviewed he admitted to stealing over $3,000 worth of merchandise.

Items taken included; numerous DVDs, Sony Playstation and Nintendo Wii game cartridges and a prepaid cellular phone.

It was actually the cell phone that was Kupec's undoing.

Reportedly, a stolen phone was found in the Best Buy stockroom. Though the phone had not yet been activated, the memory showed that two calls had been attempted - one to Kupec's residence and the other to his personal cell phone.

Once the gig was up, Kupec reportedly returned all of the stolen merchandise to the Norman Police Department.

Kupec has been charged with felony embezzlement.

UPDATE: 1/2/08 - On 4/4/07 Kupec pled guilty to the felony charge of embezzlement. Kupec was given a deferred sentence of one year. Despite his guilty plea, a man claiming to be Kupec has written SideBarBlog insisting the public record recounting his crimes are false and he expects his record to be expunged after serving his deferment.

Fake Rolexes on Ebay? No Way!

Moore, OK - Seems the guy on the corner trying to sell his fake Rolex has migrated to the information superhighway. And what better corner of the Internet to pawn your fakery than Ebay.

According to court records, Moore resident Nhan Huynh Nguyen, 31, advertised an "authentic Rolex GMT Master II watch" on Ebay in May of last year.

The winning bid was $3,145 (including shipping).

When the winner received his new "Rolex" he felt something wasn't right. So, according to police, he took it to a master watchmaker.

The watchmaker confirmed the buyer's fears and the "Rolex" was declared a fake.

The buyer contacted Nguyen and demanded his money back.

And what was Nguyen's reply? According to the victim, Nguyen calmly stated that he had received the watch as a gift, has no idea if it is a real Rolex and only described it as authentic "because other people on Ebay do it."

Well, guess what? The felony criminal complaint and arrest warrant filed this week in Cleveland County is very authentic!

Police Catch VPO Violator Red Handed

Moore, OK - A man who allegedly violated a Victim's Protective Order (VPO) practically turned himself in to police.

VPO's exist in theory to provide protection for individuals who feel threatened by another. Often they forbid a person from approaching, telephoning, emailing or otherwise having contact with the victim.

If a person violates a VPO they can be fined or even jailed.

The problem though is in proving a violation occurred.

One quick thinking woman in Moore though turned the tables on the subject of her VPO and left him caught red handed.

According to police, the female victim received a telephone call to her cell phone in mid December from a David Lynn Craig, 41.

Reportedly, Craig "informed her that he will find her regardless of where she may try to hide."

The victim drove immediately to the Moore police station while keeping Craig on the line.

According to police, the victim then quietly handed the phone over to an officer who heard Craig comment that the VPO, "is not worth the paper it is written on" among other priceless quotes sure to please the judge.

On January 19 Craig was charged with the crime of violating the previously mentioned victim's protective order.

With Friends Like These...

Norman, OK - You know the saying, "friends help you move, but real friends help you move bodies." That seems to be the motto of a group of party goers in Norman late last year.

According to court records, a Norman police officer discovered a dead body on the side of the road December 5th of last year.

The body, which showed no apparent signs of foul play (other than being dead on the side of the road), was later identified as belonging to Michael Henderson.

When investigators spoke to Henderson's family they learned he was last seen at a party in an apartment complex in Norman.

Police then interviewed Merrick Thunderbull, 29, Keely Black, 29, and Thomas Palmer, 50.

The three allegedly explained that Henderson had been drinking and smoking crack at their party. Later the three discovered Henderson deceased on the couch.

Naturally a dead body tends to be a real buzz kill at an otherwise kicking party, so the three did what any other thoughtful law abiding hosts would do... They allegedly loaded Henderson's body into their car and dumped it on the side of the road.

All three now face felony charges of unauthorized removal of a dead body.
